Today in our two worship services we will look at darkness in a whole new light! Darkness is often portrayed as evil or as the dwelling place of evil. What many do not realize, however, is that darkness is often the dwelling place of God and that it is in the dark that God does some of His best work. Darkness is essential to our physical well-being as light is. No wonder God created night and day. We need plenty of light and plenty of darkness. Not only is this true of our physical well-being, it is also true of our spiritual well-being. To always live in the light of joyful experiences and sunny disposition will lead inevitably to spiritual weakness and possibly spiritual death. Our bright experiences must be counter-balanced by our dark ones. It is only in that way we can experience the fullness of God, for He dwells in both the light and the dark.
