EMERGENCY SERVICES• Current Operations –

– ESF 8 is working on Norwalk Virus outbreak, patients being isolated and treated; boil water alert still in effect.

– ESF 8: working with CDC and Department of Agriculture on establishing a mosquito spraying program.

– ESF 4/9 is working on 7 temp. facilities for fire stations; Providing backfill to local agencies

– No change in death count @ 25– Port-o-lets!– ESF 16 fulfilling all tasked missions and relieving workers

• Unmet Needs – – Mosquito spraying- needed– Lack of staff for medical needs still an issue

• Current Operations – – 50 canteens, 3 kitchens trailers and 30 comfort stations– 18 shelters remain open with 900 evacuees. 178 in Special

Needs Shelters– 1.3 m meals served as of 2400 on 8-22-04– 597 trucks of water (2.9 m) gals have been distributed– 363 trucks of ice (14.5 lbs) have been distributed– 631,000 meals have beep delivered to various sites– 42,086 cases of baby food and formula have been distributed– Call Center is averaging about 20 calls per hour– Volunteer Florida has registered 4390 volunteers– DeSoto, Seminole, Orange and Sarasota (2) have Volunteer

Reception Centers open– 4 staging sites are operational for animal feed donations and

distribution through EOC– Code 3 Mobile Hospital continues to operate

– 13,581 wire line POTs customers are out of service – >98% wireless customers have service in Southwest Florida– Coordinating radio, satellite, cell, POTs and internet connectivity
