Executive Director Ann Fee will walk us through the current exhibition of 100 pieces of artwork by members of the Arts Center, and answer any questions about the Arts Center’s past, present, or future!

INCREASED MASK-WEARING PROTOCOL STATEWIDEThe number of new COVID cases continues to rise in our state and Governor Walz has enacted a state-wide mask-wearing mandate. This increased statewide precaution encourages VINE to keep our safety standards as high as ever. Please continue to wear your mask in our building unless you are in the shower or in the pool.

Wearing any type of covering over the nose and mouth while exercising is likely to reduce the fl ow of oxygen into a person’s lungs. Keep this in mind as you exercise and monitor how you are feeling. Just like any time you exercise, if you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or short of breath, it is important to slow down, take a break, and rest until the symptoms subside.

If you have a heart or lung condition and are concerned about wearing a cloth mask, consider wearing a face shield while in our building. This option provides protection without impacting breathing.

Thank you for your understanding and for making VINE a safer place to be well!

IN-PERSON PROGRAMSDue to physical distancing measures, space is limited.

Face masks are required.

KEEPING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SAFEOn July 25, Minnesota enacted a state-wide mask-wearing mandate for all indoor public spaces including public transportation.

NATIONAL THRIFT STORE DAY: AUGUST 17 • Open: Tuesday – Saturday

• 10 am – 5 pm

• Masks required

• Curbside pick up available

We are celebrating National Thrift Store Day all week long (August 18-22) with diff erent deals off ered daily.

Why should you consider donating or shopping at a thrift store? There are many reasons to thrift. Here are a few to consider:

1. Saves Money – bargain shopping at its best coupled with the potential to fi nd a valuable hidden gem, thrifting will help your budget.

2. Eco-Friendly – thrifting keeps more out of landfi lls and saves energy.

3. Unique Finds – stores are packed with one-of-a-kind items waiting to be discovered.

4. Quality – most items found at thrift stores are used and proven to withstand the test of time.

5. Help the Community – most thrift stores are run by charitable organizations, like the VINE Home Thrift Store, which give back to the older adults in our community.

Thrifting is more environmentally friendly and personally rewarding.

THANK YOU TO OUR HERO VOLUNTEERS!We are fi nding out during this pandemic that not all heroes wear capes.

Since COVID began, our volunteer pool has dwindled. Many of our volunteers are older with underlying health concerns. Our Volunteer Driver program has lost about 75% of its drivers.

Some of our programs are still closed as well, limiting our volunteer opportunities.

We’d like to take a moment to thank our hero volunteers who continue to off er their help during these diffi cult times.
