August 16th marks the 90th birthday of the US piano legend Bill Evans. Two multi-award UK jazz favourites, vocalist Claire Martin and pianist Nikki Iles come together to celebrate the man and his music. Joined by bassist Steve Watts and drummer Matt Home, they will revisit some of the classic songs Evans recorded with the jazz great singer Tony Bennett. £20

SEVEN STEPS BIG BANDAfter sell-out performances the past 4 summers, The Seven Steps Big Band returns to PizzaExpress Soho to present a new programme of classic and contemporary big band music. Waldo’s Gift is a contemporary instrumental trio of three young stars of the latest generation of Bristol-based jazz talent combining blinding technique with real creative musical insight and authenticity. MATSHIDISOMatshidiso is a half South African (her name comes from the Sotho tribe, meaning blessing or consolation) half Jamaican musician, born and raised in London. A classically trained pianist, she is also a composer, arranger and singer-songwriter. Matshidiso’s music has influences of early Alice Coltrane and Nina Simone, the storytelling nature of Joni Mitchell, the neo-soul jazz sounds of Robert Glasper. £15

THE BOOM YEHLondon’s premier funk collective come to PizzaExpress Live for a night of pure uncut groove. Renowned for their high level musicianship and electrifying live shows, the band has garnered the support of BBC Radio 6, Jazz FM, Blues And Soul magazine and Radio/Club DJ’s far and wide. CLARK TRACEY QUINTETClark Tracey has been at the forefront of British jazz for over 40 years, since joining his distinguished father Stan Tracey’s bands in 1978. THE RED STRIPE BAND25 YEARS AND COUNTINGSoho resident Neil Drinkwater aka Red Stripe formed the band in the summer of 1994 and returns to his favourite local venue to celebrate this momentous achievement. Singer/songwriter Liv Austen was born in Norway where songwriting skills seem to be genetic, but has been embraced by the Brits as one of their own singer/songwriters. £15
