There’s many a slip between the cup and the lip. Welcome to our Chinese visitors. You might have noticed we have a number of Chinese children who are visiting our school for the first two-four weeks of this term. This has been organised by our ESOL and International teachers, Trudy Freeman, Tong Jin and Sonia. The students have a programme of work and visits which the ladies have prepared and are presenting and marking. As part of their programme they have been assigned a class to visit and call home and a buddy to look after them during their time here. We hope the students and their parents have an enjoyable stay. The school drop off area. You will have noticed that over the last two weeks this has been so much better. The lovely lady you have seen down there, Jude Tabuteau, has kept traffic flowing and we have not had cars backed up into Sunnyview road. If people continue to move down to the end of the drop off and pick up lane, the system will continue to work. We have been asking for volunteers to help with an afternoon duty. So far we have had one volunteer to do the Monday afternoon. We do need four more helpers to do Tuesday Friday. Mrs Tabuteau cannot continue forever. This is not an arduous role and we in no way want to put anyone in a difficult situation. Cars see someone in a bright yellow jacket and they move to the end of the lane. Unfortunately, if no one is there I am sure cars will revert to stopping anywhere. Please contact the office if you are able to help. Thanks again Jude for getting this system up and running. The school Production, Blame it on the Boogie, is in full rehearsal mode and it is going to be a great show. We are looking forward to putting this on and know that you will really enjoy the show. Tickets are available at the office. A reminder of the dates. Monday 15th matinee at 11.30 and Tuesday 16 th , Wednesday 17 th and Thursday 18 th at 7pm. Have a great fortnight-as a Wellingtonian “Go the Hurricanes” Peter Marshall
