Andy Fidino —Eugene, OR

“My strength has gone through the roof with MaxxTOR In only 8 weeks I increased my strength on my benchand squats over 50% while getting ready for a Physique Contest. I gained 8.5 lbs. of lean muscle and lost11.7% body fat. When I saw the results of my In Body scans at my local Max Muscle store after only 8 weeks ofusing MaxxTOR I was floored. MaxxTOR is an incredible product!”

“Every time I tookMaxxTOR I could feel my strength increase. My bench went from 145 to 215 for 8 reps in the8 weeks I used this product. I also noticed that my mental focus was tremendous. I was so focused on myworkout. I have never accomplished so much at the gym and I have seen major changes in my body. I havereally noticed how toned my body has become. I have lost body fat and gained muscle which is right on trackwith my personal goals. I am hooked on MaxxTOR !”

“When I started taking MaxxTOR , I noticed a dramatic increase in my energy levels. It helped me push past theburn and get the extra two or three reps that really tear it up. Before MaxxTOR I weighed in at 168lbs with 9%body fat. I followed a strict diet plan and trained hard every day in the gym usingMaxxTOR as my pre-workout.

At the end of 8 weeks, I weighed 175lb with 5.58% body fat! I gained 12lbs of lean muscle and a shredded3.42% body fat! I’m extremely satisfied with the results I’ve gotten usingMaxxTOR and will continue to use it.”

“From the first time I started taking MaxxTOR Iwas hooked. I felt that I could lift all day! I didn’t want to leavethe gym! After the first week, there was a noticeable improvement and it just kept getting better. The number ofplates and sets kept increasing and my weight started to decrease. At the age of 47, I am in the best shape ofmy life. I never imagined that I could be this fit & healthy and have single digit bodyfat!”

“While takingMaxxTOR I noticed my strength has increased more rapidly than it had ever before. In only8 weeks I was able to drop almost 8 pounds of fat and still gain quality lean muscle. In the past I had alwayssacrificed lean muscle when losing body fat. This was not the case with MaxxTOR . This is an incredibleproduct that really works.”

V NEVER LET AGEBE A FACTOR My tness journey took me to competing atthe NPC Masters Bikini back in May 2013.Since then I have competed in a total offour shows, bringing home three 1st placestrophies with 1 overall and one 5th placeat the Master classes. ... At my age, I was

hesitant and never thought I could step onstage for a tness competition. With the helpand support of my Coach/Nutritionist KennyTali at Max Muscle (Walnut Creek, CA), I canhonestly say that age is no factor in tness. As long as you have the ability to remainconsistent in your efforts, you stay dedicated, and have the heart and attitude, then you cantruly accomplish anything.

We all want extra energy. Thesesimple steps often get overlookedon a daily basis, yet they caneasily boost your energy levelsdramatically.Make sure you drink plenty ofwater throughout the day. Wateris literally a miracle worker when it

comes to overall health and energy. It’s great for your digestive andcirculatory system. Your skin craveswater, especially if you live in the drywestern states. Weight-loss gurususually recommend daily intakeof water of at least ½ - 1 gallonthroughout the day. Fill up a waterbottle or jug every morning andsip it throughout the day. Don’t besurprised to see your energy levels

jump up quickly.Get in the habit of working out

daily. I like to start my day bygoing to the gym every morning. After a few weeks of going, itbecomes habitual and you feel badif you don’t go. You can also plana 20-minute walk daily. Right afterlunch is a great time to jump-startyour metabolism. Early afternoon isalso great, as it helps you head offthe afternoon blues while getting\RXU EORRG ÀRZLQJ 7KLV FDQ OHDGto a more productive afternoon,

while increasing your overall health, metabolic rate and, of course, energy.

Also make yourself walk a little extraevery day. TIPS FOR COPING WITH ADULT ADHDMany of the challenges we all face both in the workplace and at home are even more difcult for those with adult ADHD. Heresome tips from the experts for coping:• Choose your career wisely, advised David Sack, MD, psychiatrist and CEO of Elements Behavioral Health in California. “People w

ADHD have trouble with management jobs due to lack of organization and inability to sit still and focus. Yet they may be mmore successful at a job in sales or contracting, where they can move around and be in the moment.”

• Take advantage of technology, suggested Stephanie Sarkis, PhD, a Florida psychotherapist and author of four books on adultattention decit disorder. “Go as paperless as possible to reduce the clutter and help remind you of things,” she said. “Use yophone calendar and to do list, use apps for travel packing and shopping, use money management software, direct deposit andautomatic bill payment.”

• Enlist help, even if you have to hire someone to help with organization, light cleaning and necessary paperwork, said Dr. SarkisFriends can also help you manage impulsive behaviors by providing feedback about what they see and help you to practice mpositive behaviors.

• See a therapist, in addition to taking prescribed medications, said Dr. Sack. “Behavioral therapy is a cornerstone of ADHDmanagement. It can help with the frustration of living with the disorder, and with social skills training.”

• Break tasks down into small pieces. “Study or work on a difcult task for a half hour, then go outdoors and take a walk,”recommended Dr. Sarkis. “Exercise helps you to raise the brain chemicals you need to help you focus.”

television, for example. You’re itchingto do something else, so you have totalk on the phone while watching.” ADHD can wreak havoc in anadult’s life, contributing to job failure,PRQH\ PDQDJHPHQW GLI¿FXOWLHV WUDI¿Faccidents and marriage problems, among other issues, according to Dr.Sarkis. “Basically, there’s a big gapbetween ability and performance,” sheexplained. David Sack, MD, psychiatrist andCEO of Elements Behavioral Health inCalifornia agrees. “People with adult

ADHD are less successful than theirintelligence would predict,” he said.

“They have ongoing problems with notgetting work done on time, missingdeadlines, forgetfulness at a job or atschool – usually because they didn’tSD\ DWWHQWLRQ WR LQVWUXFWLRQV LQ WKH ¿UVWplace. At home, in a relationship, theymay even forget to pick up the kidsfrom school or child care.”

The good news, said Dr. Spencer, isthat adult ADHD can be diagnosed andtreated, both with medication and withbehavioral therapy. Beware, though, ofself-diagnosis. “There are lots of onlinetests you can take to see if you have

ADHD,” she said. “But it’s important totalk to a mental health professional, ahuman being, to have a dialogue about

your symptoms, so that you can betreated appropriately.”

Making the DiagnosisThese days, we’ve become accustomedto high tech tests, such as imaging,to help doctors make a diagnosis. Butwhile some research suggests that

$'+' LV FDXVHG E\ D GH¿FLHQF\ RIdopamine (one of the building blocksof norepinephrine), and other theoriespurport that those with ADHD have adifferent theta/beta brain wave ratiothan those without the disorder – thereis no biological test at this point thatcan conclusively diagnose the disorder, said Spencer. According to Dr. Spencer, the best way for a mental healthprofessional to diagnose adult ADHDis by conducting an interview with thepatient and his or her family members, using criteria from the “Diagnostic andStatistical Manual of Mental Disorders,”(DSM-5), published by the AmericanPsychiatric Association, a listing ofcertain symptoms that may be presentin those with ADHD. Because adult ADHD is believed to bea condition that has been present since

work done.”–Stephanie Sarkis, PhD

childhood, the diagnosis is fairly easyfor those who have been diagnosedpreviously. But In adults who weren’tdiagnosed with the disorder duringchildhood, it can be a little trickier, saidDr. Spencer. “We need to look back tomiddle childhood to identify symptomsthat may give us clues of ADHD.” This, she explained, may be done by

examining school records to identifygrades that were lower than might havebeen expected, or behavioral problems.

³:H DOVR WDON WR D VLJQL¿FDQW RWKHmaybe a spouse or a parent, who canhelp to identify both past and currentsymptoms that the person may notrecognize.” Sometimes, a diagnosis of adult ADHDmay come as a surprise, added Dr.Spencer. “Many times, people with adult

ADHD seek help for other problems thatgo hand in hand with the disorder, suchas anxiety or depression,” she explained. The best advice? If you have anysymptoms that are interfering with your

job or relationships for more than a brieftime, see a mental health provider, saidDr. Spencer. MS&F

2TX: If the X-Series is MaxMuscle’s Manhattan Project,2TX has to be the first atombomb. 2TX by MMSNrepresents the elite arsenal intestosterone amplification andage-related hormonal support.2TX’s innovative and science-based formula is strategically

designed to promote thepowerful natural testosterone mechanisms within themale body, releasing testosterone from binding transportproteins, optimizing steroid receptor binding capacity, and blocking unwanted estrogen production. The keyingredients in 2TX have been shown in human clinicaltrials to increase free (unbound and bioavailable) testos-terone by 98 percent. Free testosterone is the only formof the hormone that binds to androgen receptorsresulting in both anabolic and androgenic effects.

Androgen binding then activates a cascade of biologicalmechanism for protein synthesis, tissue growth,

increased bone density and muscle strength. The bestanalogy is if you’re driving a hot rod, and for somereason, you were unable to ‘floor’ the gas pedal and goas fast as possible, that would represent low testoster-one. Through a natural means the 2TX enables you to‘floor’ your body’s own natural testosterone production, thereby enhancing your levels to the highest possiblerate, naturally possible.

Who Is It For? Testosterone levels begin to declinein the late third or early fourth decade and diminish at aconstant rate thereafter. Steeper declines occur inunbound or free testosterone. Lower testosterone levels

is a major risk factor for a multitude of metabolic andmental health conditions. 2TX was designed as a naturalsolution to this problem of low T. 2TX effectively servesas the bridge between your own production and boostingyour testosterone from an outside source, all the whilekeeping everything natural. 2TX can be used by any maleover the age of 30 suffering from diminishing testoster-one levels or anyone looking to optimize their own healthand fitness to reach their goals.

-48 The MTX was createdto be the sister product to 2TXfor testosterone support.MTX’s innovative andevidence-based formula isdriven by the premier patented

ingredient Myotestoserone.

Myotestosterone has been shown in published rigorousclinical studies to significantly increase testosteronelevels in healthy men. MTX delivers clinically validateddoses of Myotestosterone along with powerful synergis-tic ingredients to get the results you expect from atop-shelf Max Muscle product. Whereas 2TX is primarilyherbal based, using the all-natural, plant-based, Testo-furenol and Testofen as its core root ingredients (inaddition to its own synergistic blend of ingredients), theMyotestosterone in MTX is sourced from an entirelydifferent ingredient, D-Aspartic Acid. D-Aspartic Acid(DAA) is a physiological amino acid occurring principallyin the pituitary gland, neuroendocrine tissues, and themale testes. MTX’s own version of this, Myotestoster-one, is so potent that in many cases it has been shownto take effect in as little as three days!

Who Is It For? MTX shares a similar core audienceand intended user base as 2TX. The primary concernand thus objective of MTX is to aid in the production oftestosterone through natural means. In fact, studies

have shown that through natural means the MTX and2TX, when combined, can work in conjunction to ‘free’ ahigher sum of molecules for the body’s testosteroneproduction. It’s also a good idea to try one or the otherto see which one garner’s the greatest effect from yourbody, and in most cases, users should feel tangiblebenefit from both. If this is the case, the best way tobulletproof your hormone levels and quality of life is totake them both. As with any new dietary supplement, besure to contact your local Certified Fitness NutritionCoach for proper dosing and safety.

provide the body with precur-sors to support healthy levels of

growth hormone (GH) andinsulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) along with neuromus-cular optimization and cognitive enhancement. Mediatedby GH and IGF-1 enhancement, GHTX was formulated toincrease lean body mass and muscle power output, promote anabolic intervention, and enhance rapidrecovery. GH is an anabolic protein hormone secretedby the pituitary gland in thebrain and is responsible forthe overall growth of the body (e.g. muscles and bones),fat breakdown, other metabolic effects, and maintainingthe immune system. GH stimulates the release of the

hormone IGF-1 by the liver. The secreted IGF-1 then

travels to tissues and is the key player in muscle growth.

Who Is It For? Beginning at age 20, GH levelsdecline progressively and have been linked to manyage-related changes including decreases in lean bodymass, increases in abdominal body fat and thinning ofthe skin. Optimizing the body’s naturally-occurring levelsof GH becomes paramount the more one ages. In orderto age gracefully, precautions must be taken in order tomaintain a healthy anti-aging regimen. GHTX providesusers with a natural boost to their own levels of GH.

Anyone over the age of 20 can take GHTX and it shouldbe considered a requirement for anyone over the age of40, unquestionably.

Now that, my friends, is an intro to TRX training! If youare an athlete like myself and are looking to better yourperformance by increasing core strength, be sure andhit the TRX. MENTALLY FIT By Benjamin Russack

Eight years ago, I was a good 80 pounds overweightwhen I walked into a gym offering Brazilian Jujitsu, anaggressive grappling art involving chokes, arm locksand throws. Ten minutes into the warm up, I wasalready utterly exhausted and in a good deal of pain. Two hours later, I literally crawled off the mat, nearlyhyperventilating, my gi soaked with sweat, my hair lookingas though I had just stepped from the shower.

I was hooked. I immediately began attending 4 to 5 days a week.Every night, I struggled with sore muscles and copiousbruising, wincing as I stooped to tie a shoe or lay downto sleep. Still, never once did I think, “I can’t do this, I

can’t go back.” Instead my thoughts were, “Training todaywas so amazing! I can’t wait to do more!” I was not onany special diet. I had no personal trainer. I had nevereven heard of a “sports drink.” All I knew is that everytime I walked into that gym I felt a drive and ambition toparticipate and perform. Now, nearly a decade later, I amdown from a size 55 to a 34 pants, I have endless energy,I can run for miles and at age 39, and I am in the bestshape of my life.

My belief is that the key to locating a seeminglyunlimited supply of energy and endurance has less to dowith exercise and diet, but rather with one thing and onething only: passion.

sophomore in high school my motherdied suddenly of diabetes. She justwent into a diabetic coma one day anddidn’t wake up. I thought I was given adeath sentence.” Forced to reevaluate his life with adiagnosis of Type I Diabetes, Kristiandid a lot of soul searching. “I put therest of my life into the context of ‘I

have this disease that could kill me’ andI decided that I needed to do thingsthat made me really feel alive,” hesaid. “I recognized that was what I feltlike when I was driving that car. And Idecided then that I wanted to do thisbut on a bigger scale.” Kristian said he refused to succumbto the disease like his mother soWUDJLFDOO\ GLG +H ¿JXUHG RXW ZKDW KHneeded to do to deal with the diseaseand then back to being productive withhis life.

TURNING POINT It was at this point in his young life thatKristian recognized that if he was goingto deal responsibly with his Type IDiabetes and follow his dreams he wasgoing to have to manage his nutritionand health. This was when I “decidedI better get to it,” Kristian said. “Iattacked it.”

TRAINING LIKE A PROKristian not only spends hours a daytraining on the track, he also worksdirectly to support his sponsors, markethis brand and manage his health. Hetrains extensively in the gym. Thisrequires 100 percent dedication anddiscipline. In the gym, Kristian must focus oncore development and arm strengthtraining. The amount of strengthrequired to race at this level is amazing.Kristian said, “Did you know that a

driver’s reaction time is equivalent tothat of a Major League hitter swingingat a 95 mph fastball, his heart rateis just two beats shy of an Olympicswimmer during the 1,000 meter?” Because of his Type I Diabetes,Kristian has to carefully managehis nutritional needs and focuseson a healthy mix of protein andcarbohydrates. This gives his bodythe fuel it needs to perform as theelite athlete he is in the same way hisracecar has to be properly maintainedand managed with fuel.

“Turning a wheel faster than AlbertPujols swings a bat, maintaining theheart rate of an Olympiad for hours andwrestling with a Silverback in a cagetakes the hardcore conditioning to beexpected of any professional athlete, and I for one, take my training veryseriously,” Kristian said.

TIPS FROM THE PRO1. Planning is essential. If you havea meal game plan already in place, you are less likely to grab whateveryou can get your hands on.

2. Prepare your own food as oftenas possible. This is the only true wayto control what’s going in. Also, if youcan, set aside a day or few hours oneday a week and pre-package yourmeals for the next 7 days.

3. Hydrate. Too many of us are being

active with less than optimal hydration.Studies show that even being just5 percent below target has effectsthat could wreak havoc on the body’sfunction and performance!

4. Keep a journal of what youingested and how it made you feel.Read it back at the end of the day.

Increase the things that made yourbody feel better and nix the thingsthat made you feel sluggish and tired.

5. Stay away from alcohol. TheUH¿QHG VXJDU WKH\ SXW LQ DOFRKRO even something the body recognizesand therefore has an extremelyGLI¿FXOW WLPH EUHDNLQJ GRZQ

People today are busier than ever before. With thedemands of careers, families, relationships and hobbies, mostof us are running on fumes just to keep up. Luckily, energy

drinks are available everywhere to provide that boost of energyneeded to get through the day and perform when it counts.

The History of Energy DrinksThroughout history, people have used various beverages tofeel that extra burst of energy. During that time, trends havechanged from tea to coffee to soft drinks and back again. But,

just as people have long sought out drugs more powerful thancaffeine, they now seek soft drinks with additional energy-boosting chemicals.

Enter energy drinks. From 2008 to 2013, the energy drinkmarket grew 60 percent, totaling $12.5 billion in U.S. salesin 2013. In fact, according to the “Energy Drinks and Shots:Market Trends in the U.S.” report, sales of energy drinks and

shots will grow to $21.5 billion by 2017, driven by continuedeconomic recovery, expansion in retail distribution and strongpotential in new product development. But despite the market’s recent explosion, energy drinks

Dairy Products May Be Most Effective inTargeting Metabolic Syndrome (MetS)

MetS is characterized by obesity, dyslipidemias, hypertension and hyperglycemand impacts 34 percent of the U.S. adult population. Nutrition scientists at theUniversity of Connecticut, Storrs evaluated data from epidemiological studies andclinical interventions suggesting that one or more dairy components might directlMetS parameters. Researchers found that calcium reducesbody weight by modulating vitamin D concentrations inplasma and activating genes involved in fatty acid synthesis

and reducing those involved in lipolysis. Peptides present inmilk have been associated with blood pressure reductions.BCAAs may increase post-prandial insulin secretionand regulate plasma glucose levels, and leucine, anabundant amino acid in milk, may be responsiblefor decreased plasma glucose through modulation ofmTOR. Through different proposed mechanisms, dairynutrients may target all components of MetS. (Dugan CE,Fernandez ML. Yale J Biol Med. 2014 Jun 6;87(2):135-147). MMSN Featured Product: MaxPro
