August 6, 1945 the sun rose into a clear blue sky over the city of Hiroshima in Japan promising a warm pleasant day. Nothing in the day’s dawning indicated that this day would be any different from its predecessors. On this day a single bomb dropped by a single airplane destroyed the city, leading to the end of ‘World War II” and introducing mankind to the Atomic Age”. “Little boy and Fat man”.

Little Boy Nidhi Rajan, Std 2

President Roosevelt, three days later launched the second, bigger atomic bomb against the city of Nagasaki. The device known as “Fat man”, after Winston Churchill weighed nearly 4,050 kg. Hiroshima Day commemorates 6 August 1945, the day when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima & Nagasaki. Hiroshima day is now a focus for “anti – war” and anti – nuclear discussions and demonstrations.

Paraphrase of Sri Aurobindo’s Message to the Nation on August 15, 1947

August 15th, 1947 is the birthday of free India. It marks for her the end of an old era, the beginning of a new age. August l5th is Sri Aurobindo’s own birthday too. His dreams for the country were wide and large. The first of these dreams was a revolutionary movement which would create a free and united India.

Another dream was for the resurgence and liberation of the peoples of Asia and her return to her great role in the progress of human civilisation.

The third dream was a world-union forming the outer basis of a fairer, brighter and nobler life for all mankind.

Another dream, the spiritual gift of India to the world has already begun. India’s spirituality is entering Europe and America in an ever increasing measure.

The final dream was a step in evolution which would raise man to a higher and larger consciousness and begin the solution of the problems which have perplexed and vexed him since he first began to think and to dream of individual perfection and a perfect society.

Hiroshima is a place located about 500 miles from Tokyo, was selected as the first target. 9000 pound uranium was loaded aboard the plane which dropped the bomb known as “Little boy” destroying fire square miles of the city. The second target was Nagasaki where the plutonium bomb “Fat man” was dropped at 11.02 that morning. More powerful than the one used at Hiroshima. The Hiroshima bomb, known as “Little boy” – a reference to former.

Every kids d day is their Birthday and I’m no new to that special day. Though our parents tell us how much they love us, care for us and so many other things. We count on them only when they get something special on our “Birthday”. I really love my parents, they always got me whatever I had asked them on my Birthday. But one special gift which I cannot forget is the musical Guitar / piano. That was a real pleasure and surprise to me.

My unforgettable birthday gift Aakash, Std 2

It was my 6th birthday. Every one wished me, hugged me and blessed me, but no GIFT. I was totally disappointed but still, I didn’t show it to anyone. I was very angry. They got me a beautiful new dress, lots of chocolates and all stuffs. But NO GIFT. But after having my both and dressing up to school. Suddenly everybody in the home wished me loudly with a chocolate cake in the table. I was in no mood. My dad surprisingly gave me the ultimate “guitar / piano” set, which I loved it to the core. I will cherish this gift and moment forever. “I love my parents”.

My Friend

A friend is someone who stands by you. A friend is someone who encourages you. A friend is someone who makes you smile. A friend is someone who brightens you.

Haripriya, Std 2

Friendship is the only ship that cannot not sink. Without friend we cannot live. We share everything with friends. We laugh and cry with friends. I love friends.

Varshini, Std 2

Life without friends are boring. Friends are for sharing. Friendship is the true relationship. A friend in need is a friend indeed.

Visit to Mobile Planetarium Kshema, Std 7 We started our trip to DAV public school at 9.50 a.m. and reached there at 10.20 a.m. After going there we waited for our turn to know about different types of robots. Then two people invited us to give a small introduction about robots. There were humanoids robots, bio – inspired robots, explorers, vehicles and stripers. They operated and explained how they showed movies about two different topics. (1) earth’s wild ride, (2) ultimate universe. In the first topic we saw how dinosaurs disappeared from the earth, earth’s solar and lunar eclipse and craters on moon. The second topic was about comets, asteroids, nebula and big bang.
