Brad Declercq, chef and owner of The Starboard Grill, is passionate about food. He loves to create family-friendly meals with a West Coast flair using

local ingredients whenever possible. Brad prefers fresh ingredients and creates his own ground burgers, cod, halibut, salmon, pickerel, soups and desserts all in house.

Be sure to order Brad’s award-winning signature soup Candied Salmon Chowder, a true West Coast taste unique to The Starboard Grill.

Brad loves to create in the kitchen, but he knows he can’t run a successful restaurant like The Starboard Grill without help.

“Fantastic staff are a major part of our success and they really enjoy what they do,” says Brad. “they make me very proud.”

Location is another big feature of The Starboard Grill. Located on the waterfront at Harbour Quay, they are the

only restaurant in Port Alberni with a patio right on the water. Whether you are seated inside the restaurant or out on the protected patio, the view of the Alberni Inlet is spectacular year round.

The Starboard Grill can accommodate up to 100 people inside and another 80 on the patio, so it’s a great choice for any event or celebration.

For 10 years Dolce Vita has been an oasis for the thirsty, with over 40 flavours of martinis and for

sustenance a menu that encompasses everyone’s favourite meal. Within their restaurant is also Venice Pizza with a huge choice of pizzas as well as pasta, salads, steaks, chicken wings and so much more.

Owners Georgio and Yianni chose the name Dolce Vita as it means “The Sweet Life”.

The restaurant is divided into a bar area with big screen tv’s comfortable seating and lush surroundings. Monday is Martini Day and you receive a special price. The main dining area has two tiered seating with private

booths and tables. Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is any small pizza or pasta for only $9.95. They also have a banquet room that comfortably seats 45. Venice Pizza has it’s own unique décor and is a great late night place to enjoy comfort food.

There are daily lunch and dinner specials every day, all food made from scratch with care and love.

We are open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. and provide delivery for all of our menus. They are fully licensed and have air conditioning so that you can dine in cool comfort. They are the go to place for fine dining, family-friendly, and for the sports enthusiast.

When Kevin Wright had a vision for the Uptown, he started with his own business. The Steam

Punk Café showcases the kind of innovation that can be achieved with hard work and imagination.

The Café is heavily decorated in the Steam Punk style and has become a popular gathering spot in the area with local residents and business people lining up looking for their daily coffee fix.

The helpful baristas at the counter make amazing coffee and other beverages and are happy to add fresh baked goods, homemade soup,

salads and homemade paninis to your order. Ask about gluten free and vegan options as well.

In addition to comfy seating and tables inside, an outdoor patio built off the sidewalk allows patrons to take in the city while enjoying their lunch. As well, a unique art piece built from industrial machinery graces the sidewalk in front of the café, adding to the local flavour.

Owner Kevin Wright is typically on the job 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, so he is thankful for a hardworking and dedicated staff that make every customer’s experience as positive as possible.
