TRAINING INTRODUCTION
© Copyright Li-le Office Training 2015
I want to describe a scenario to you.
It may be one that you are familiar with, and if you’re in a posiIon of deciding whether to use this training package then I suspect you will be have a had a great deal of experience with variaIons of this scenario.
…you’re queuing in Starbucks (because you haven’t got the 7me to go to your favourite coffee shop 5minutes away). It’s 9am, and you’re wai7ng for a double shot laEe to help digest the croissant you wolfed down whilst finishing reviewing your proposed client deliverable which you’re discussing with the partner later in the morning...you’re s7ll deciding on the right approach for the mee7ng, but despite the early hour you are already struggling to make clear decisions.
It’s a Tuesday, and you’re contempla7ng the week ahead. Last night you finished at 10pm, so you could leave a bit earlier to aEend your friend’s birthday dinner tonight. You haven’t seen them in about four months, but won’t be staying late or drink much because you have an 8am client call in the morning. Also tomorrow’s going to be a late one because you’re hoping to steal away from your desk for a few hours on Thursday to aEend a colleague’s leaving drinks.
Ah…and the holiday you have at the end of the month. This was the year you were going to be ‘beach ready’. Sigh... there’s no way you’ve got 7me to go to the gym this week, or next. Oh well, beach body next year!...
I could go on, but by now I gather that you’ll recognise this as a very typical week for you and your colleagues.
This training seeks to address all of the negaIves in this scenario, by arming employees with a toolkit to: kick-‐start effecIve decision-‐making, improving fitness and body composiIon in a Ime starved environment, addressing poor eaIng habits, boosIng energy levels and managing stress.
Read on, and find out how innovaIons in science can help your workforce raise its producIvity levels, sense of wellbeing and aestheIcs (let’s face it, if people feel good about their appearance it can translate into more confident interacIons with others).
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW The training package comprises two primary secIons: one focussing on the body and the other on nutriIon. They can be delivered as one half day (3-‐4hour) workshop, however experience has proven that parIcipants gain a great deal more from the shorter (1.5-‐2 hour) sessions focussing on one of the two topics.
Below is an overview of the content that these sessions contain to improve workforce producIvity and well-‐being:
Body: combat stress, improve learning, accelerate weight loss and decide be8er
• Opens with a prac:cal fitness session: not mandatory but encouraged • Learn how exercise makes us smarter: giving us the focus to learn whilst growing our brains and memory
• Combat stress: through innovaIve psychology and eaIng broccoli • Get :me back in your diary and get fi8er in the process: by learning the latest techniques employed by the fitness industry and fitness strategies that mean you don’t even have to leave your desk
• Make be8er decisions: by spending a few minutes planning your day and buying a calendar
Nutri:on: improve energy levels, socialise more and look be8er on the beach • Learn how to improve energy levels: through an introducIon to one very simple story of biology, arming parIcipants with the knowledge to increase weight loss and mental agility
• Enjoy a delicious lunch: containing energy boosIng snacks which don’t feel ‘guilt-‐free’ and an overview of tricks that allow parIcipants to ‘cheat’ their way out of the damage caused by sugary foods
• Drink caffeine the smart way: through alignment with the body clock • Socialise, drink and perform: strategies for office socials and a proven hangover prevenIon blend
