Project x Project x despite it being a found footage film, and all about

young people throwing an over the top party (both generally associated with ‘’niche’’ audiences). The film was a huge success in the mainstream market. The film had several Hollywood actors including Thomas Mann (who was in ‘’fun size’’ the art student in ‘’welcome to me’’) and Oliver cooper (who also played the son in ‘’Californication’’ and briefly in the ‘’hangover 3’’ as the pharmacy assistant).

We can from this description alone see that the film is targeting a younger audience, the actors are not well known considering the budget and have appeared in films/projects of the same nature but suite the roles and you cannot help but laugh at there hopelessness, Your typical high school losers this appeals to the young (I call that Peter Parker syndrome, gaining sympathy from the audience at the beginning)

In addition to the actors and that ‘’teen spirit’’ vibe the posters and trailers would have appealed to all young people there is one which clearly suggests alcohol has a part to play. The poster also mentions that it was from the same director as the hangover which speaks for itself.

In addition to the crazy posters the main trailer for project x was done with the remixed ‘’pursuit of happiness’’ playing in the background using Kid Cudi and Steve Aiko was the perfect to appeal to party people and teenagers that would have stuck in their minds long after the film also promotes itself through its own website and social media. Though it would have more appeal to teenagers and young adults I'm using ‘’project x’’ as the mainstream example because of how it compares to other found footage or teenage films

Under the skin Under the skin was a very dark art film made with Scarlet

Johansson in 2013 the film follows a seemingly Promiscuous woman finds men all over Scotland and lures them back to her apartment where they are absorbed by a dark void in her apartment their bodies vanish, leaving empty skins behind.

The film dealing with themes such as sexuality, humanity, and objectification, the film received positive reviews and was hailed by some as a masterpiece, while Richard Roeper declared the film as "what we talk about when we talk about film as art".

The film attracted the odd combination of horror/art film fans, as well as Scarlet fans who are used to seeing her in huge mainstream blockbusters like ‘’Captain America’’, ‘’iron man’’ and ‘’Avengers’’, using Scarlet Johansson definitely unusual considering it was an art film.

The trailer for the film is as deep, dark and mysterious as the plot sounds. Darkness and tension adds to the films suspense makes you eager to give it a shot despite it being so unusual. One of the main aspects of the film (in my opinion one of the main reason young people watch horror films) is the strong sexual themes as seen in the classic horrors like ‘’Friday the 13th’’ and ‘’Nightmare on elm street’’.

The ‘’sexuality’’ theme is going to stand out to the young more than the themes of ‘’objectification’’ or ‘’humanity’’. With Scarlet Johansson the "Sexiest Celebrity" of the year by Playboy 2010, and "Sexiest Woman Alive" by Esquire 2006 hardly hurt the films popularity amongst young men.
