This piece is from his Underwater Ink Series, where he photographs drops of multi-colored inks in water. As the ink moves and unfolds through the water, he captures his image using a fast shutter speed. The colorful and opaque nature of the ink floating in each image gives it a sculptural quality. In a way, each plume of ink resembles a sheer unfurling fabric, or strangely sinking smoke. The resulting organic shapes leave you with the impression that they have grown over the years, yet they only exist for a split second.
