Whew! Our fall schedule has blown in with a bang!! Wednesday nights are bustling with families eating, visiting, and learning about Jesus and His work in the world. A big THANK YOU to all the teams who cook each week and to all of our volunteers who prepare, teach, and just love on our children and students. Without you, our Wednesday nights would not be the same! So THANK YOU! This reminds of a very important truth in church life. Everything we do as a church requires teamwork: groups of people, working together, to achieve a common goal. Whether it be a committee, a children’s activity, D-Now, or whatever we do, it cannot be nor should it be done by one person. It takes all of us to achieve what God has in mind at FBC Idalou! We have lots of “team” events coming up in our church. D-Now for our students is coming up. Call Bryson to see where you can help. Our church voted last week to begin some remodeling in our building and we are also looking at bids for other areas of our building. With that, we will be asking some folks to form “teams” to work together to organize thoughts and ideas for updating our building. The big “TEAM” event is on October 31….TRUNK or TREAT!! We need all hands on deck for this one. We need people to decorate their cars, bring candy, desserts, and an awesome smiling face as we seek to provide a safe, fun, family-friendly event for our community! Be on the lookout for your chance to sign up to help!! I am loving being at FBC Idalou! There are exciting things happening! We want you to be part of it! See you on Sunday!! ~ Chris ~

By the time you get this it will be DNOW weekend! I am so excited to see what God has in store for our students. Our theme this year is Choices. We will be going over how important it is to choose: honesty, service, others, and forgiveness. I want to say thank you to everyone
who has helped in planning and donations, both through time and money. I ask that you pray for everyone that’s involved. Pray for small group leaders, our speaker, and our worship leader as they lead students into worship and discussion. It has been nice getting back into a schedule again. We are about to finish our series in the gospel of John. After that we are doing a questions series. Those weeks will be dedicated to answering questions that the youth have about the bible. It will be a lot of fun. Our numbers this year are continuing to grow on Wednesdays. If you would like to be a small group leader and facilitate conversation contact me. If you have already talked to me about helping, expect a call coming your way. Thank you for all of your prayer and support.
In Christ’s Love, Bryson Wallace
And we're off! Our 2018 Christmas Cantata has had a great response and we have a really encouraging number of singers who've signed on to start getting ready for our Sunday, December 9th, AM presentation. This year we're doing a brand new offering from Dennis and Nan Allen called PEACE HAS COME and it's sooo good! Accompaniment that drives and soars, vocal parts that continually satisfy and a great message. To paraphrase a quote by one of my favorite talking tow trucks “ I'd drive my tires over a mile o' busted glass just to sing in that cantata right there!” More ladies are welcome, but we could sure use some men and youth in this production! I know some of you guys have what it takes to knock out these tenor and bass parts. We'll be practicing weekly at 4:30-5:45 on Sunday afternoon, and you'll be out in time for Bible Study. Practice will start on October 7. We'll look for you then! See you Sunday! Phone/Text: 806-412-9186 ~Jim~ Email: [email protected]
