inputs– Miss out on extra curricular opportunities – Are less likely to feel involved

Jane’s attendance is always around 90%.

She thinks this is pretty good.

•90% attendance means that she is absent from one lesson per week

•Last year she missed the equivalent of three weeks of teaching which equates to one brief or assignment

Ways to Improve Attendance

• Ask someone to call you, wake you, remind you• Ensure that you are prepared to leave on time,

pack bag the night before, make lunch, clean up• Don’t mess about watching TV, playing computer

games, texting, playing with the dog, chatting to your friends, trying on lots of outfits, styling hair etc.

• You are only sick if you CANNOT get out of bed and/or need medical attention. If you can go shopping or to a friends house, you are well enough to attend college
