thermal insulation must fulfil certain re-
quirements if a building is to comply
with the specifications of the new in-
sulating standards. Processing is a ma-
jor factor, in addition to the material,
quality and thickness of the thermal in-
sulation.
the procedure commonly used at
present for insulating floor plates is no
longer adequate; it is also very time-
consuming and therefore not cost ef-
ficient. the insulation is frequently laid
incorrectly, especially at the top ends
of floor plates. this results in thermal
bridges, which inevitably leads to com-
plaints, and labour-intensive and cost-
ly reworks.
thermal bridges are ruled out by the
system design of the JaCKodUR atlas
thermal insulation and formwork sys-
tem for floor plates. it is laid around the
perimeter beneath so-called load-bea-
ring bedplates. these structurally load-
bearing components absorb the natural
loads of the structure without the need
for additional foundations, and channel
them into the ground.
JaCKodUR atlas is available in thick-
nesses ranging from 100 to 320 mm.
as such, this cost-efficient joining sys-
tem provides insulation that is free of
thermal bridges and formwork for bed-
plates that are suitable for any type of
building.
Certified by Passivhaus institut:
the quality requirements for a peri-
meter insulation system are particu-
larly demanding in passive houses. the
system must ensure U values ≤ 0.15
W/(m2 · K) and that the connections are
free of thermal bridges.
JaCKodUR atlas complies with these
requirements and has been certified
as a component that is suitable for use
in passive houses by Passivhaus insti-
tut darmstadt.

Batter boards are used to align the system.
an angle element is laid first, followed by the side elements.
the required number of system ele-
ments is determined on the basis of the
architect‘s plan. once the planning is fi-
nalised, the installation of JaCKodUR
atlas can begin.
the JaCKodUR atlas system compri-
ses four different board elements. ang-
le and side elements are fitted with a
groove, into which the tongue of the
formwork element is inserted. the sur-
face elements have a shiplap at the
edge, which makes it easy to lay them
as a flat surface.

the formwork elements are simply slotted into the side elements. the shiplaps ensure that the structure is free of thermal bridges.
the basic framework is completed very quickly, and the surface elements can then be laid.
no tHeRMal BRidges
thermal bridges are ruled out
over the entire floor plate by the
patent pending joining technolo-
gy of JaCKodUR atlas. and yet
the system is so easy to hand-
le that it can be laid very quickly
and perfect installation is
virtually guaranteed.

a hot wire cutter is used to cut the JaCKodUR atlas elements to the right size. it can equally be used to easily cut shiplaps. a tiger or power saw can be used to cut out recesses in the layer of thermal insulation, e.g. for channelling drainage pipes.
6
the thermal insulation and formwork system is quickly laid. the joint system eliminates the need to strip the formwork from the floor plate. additional protection is not needed.
JaCKodUR surface elements must be laid in a bond to avoid cross joints.
Cost eFFiCienCY
the combination of thermal in-
sulation and formwork system
enables both to be completed in
a single step. there is no need to
remove the formwork. and this,
together with the convenient
joining technology means signi-
ficant time – and therefo-
re cost – savings.

5. the shuttering panel is put in the relevant groove. 6. ensure that it is not laid staggered to the surface panel.
2. then a side panel is attached.1. start with a corner panel.
3. the next side panel follows. 4. the surface panels follow.
8. once you have finished, lay a Pe film on top and pull it up at the sides.
7. the elements are really easy to cut with a hot wire cutter. You can even cut shiplaps and ensure that your joints are free of thermal bridges. (not necessary on the complete system)

Atlas laying plan
the JaCKodUR atlas complete system is supplied
together with a laying plan
the material is delivered to the building site
on pallets with clearly visible packing slips
the laying plan indicates both the direction of
installation and the procedure for sequential
arrangement of the numbered elements
the laying plan ensures safe and fast realisation
of the installation process
atlas CoMPlete sYsteM
JaCKodUR atlas can also be manufactured as a complete
system instead of the building site solution where the indivi-
dual elements still have to be cut to size.
JaCKodUR is manufactured to size, based on the architect‘s
specifications. the individual elements are systematically pa-
cked and delivered straight to the building site, together with
an installation plan.
the system is made to measure and only needs to be joined
together on the building site. there is no further need to cut
or adapt any of the elements, nor to strip the formwork or
provide side supports.
Even complex
geometries, such as
offsets, bays, etc.,
are possible.

JaCKodUR atlas is made of extruded polysty-
rene (XPs). the basic JaCKodUR KF materi-
al has been tried and tested over long periods
to guarantee the durable insulation and safe
foundations of the building.
at the same time, JaCKodUR strikes the per-
fect balance between sustainable and
cost-efficient insulation.
