Dental Implants have been around more than two decades. Modern breakthroughs have made it possible for more people to receive the benefits of implant dentistry, with greater comfort and ease.

“I had been wanting a Hollywood smile but wasn’t sure where to go. After a friend told me Dr. Benk

was one of the best dentists in the city, I decided to try him out,” says Patrick O’Brien, owner of Malibu Utilities, an underground utility company.

A visit to Dr. Benk for some dental work convinced him that with Dr. Benk’s expertise and the modern technology in the office, he was ready to get his smile taken care of.

Part of Patrick’s work included getting some old crowned teeth replaced with dental implants. Using a cone beam scanner, Dr. Benk took 360° 3D digital x-rays and designed Patrick’s implants so that they would fit precisely.

“I got veneers on the rest of my teeth and now I have an amazing smile and I get a lot of compliments,” says Patrick. “Dr. Benk was really fast and got it right the first time. There wasn’t any pain during the implant procedure and only slight pain for a short time after.

MAKING DENTAL IMPLANTS SAFE AND COMFORTABLEA dental implant is basically a replacement tooth. Consisting of a titanium post that acts as the root, and a porcelain crown on top, it looks,

feels and acts like a natural tooth. The placement of dental implants has become an increasingly precise science over the past five years. Meet the Dentists

Dr. Joel Benk earned his dental degree from Emory University and has practiced in Atlanta since 1980. He is a member of many dental groups and is an internationally recognized teacher in CEREC® 3D method.

Dr. Robert Schmidt earned his degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1987 and since then has achieved some of the highest levels of certification in dentistry, including top honors in practicing Invisalign® and Fastbraces®.

After graduating from Georgia Tech, Dr. Sunny Choy attended New York University College of Dentistry. She then completed a one yeargeneral practice residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.
