    Compliance with NCAA and America EastConference rules is of utmost importance to TheUniversity at Albany and its athletics department. As

    a member of the NCAA, The University at Albany isresponsible for the actions of its coaches, student-athletes, faculty and staff, alumni, donors, boostersand friends.

    The mission of the UAlbany Athletics Compliance Office is tofunction within the realm of the University's compliance structure,coordinating, monitoring and verifying compliance with all NCAA

    and Conference requirements, and to educate athletics departmentstaff members, student-athletes, the various constituencies of theUniversity and the community regarding NCAA regulations. TheAthletics Compliance Office is committed and compelled to theprinciple of institutional control in the operation of the athleticsdepartment in a way that is constant within the rules and

    regulations of the NCAA, the America East Conference and theUniversity.

    Juniors

    Register to tale the ACT, SAT or both- Use NCAA Eligibility Center Code 9999 as a score recipient, it will send the

    official score directly to the eligibility center

    Continue to take NCAA college preparatory courses

    After completing your Junior year ask your guidance counselor to send anofficial transcript to the NCAA Eligibility center

    BEFORE registering for classes for your Senior year check with our counselorto determine the number of core courses that you need to complete your

    senior year

    Take the ACT and/or SAT again, if necessary

    Continue to take college preparatory courses and make sure they matchyour schools list of NCAA Courses

    Review your amateurism responses and request final amateurism certificationon or after April 1 (fall enrollees) or October 1 (Spring enrollees)

    Graduate on time (8 academic semesters)

    After graduation ask your high school counselor to send your final

    transcript to the NCAA Eligibility center with proof of graduation

    Academic Eligibility Requirements

    Division I

    If you want to play in athletics or receive a scholarship during your firstyear you MUST:

    Graduate from High School

    Complete 16 Core Courses

    Earn a minimum requirement grade-point average in your core courses

    Earn a combined SAT OR ACT sum score that matches your core-coursegrade-point average and test score sliding scale-Example a 2.4 core-course grade-point average needs and 860 SAT score

    College-bound student athletes are not certified by the NCAA EligibilityCenter because Division II colleges and universities each set their ownadmission standards and there are no initial-eligibility requirements in thedivision

    Amateurism Eligibility Requirements

    If you want to participate in NCAA Division I or II athletics you must be certifiedas an amateur student-athlete

    When you register with the NCAA Eligibility Center you will be asked questionsabout your athletic participation. The information will be reviewed an dadetermination will be made as to whether your amateurism status should becertified

    Following pre-NCAA enrollment activities will be reviewed:1. Contract with a professional sports team2. Salary for participating in athletics

    3. Prize money4. Play with professionals5. Tryouts, practice competition with a professional team6. Benefits from an agent or prospective agent7. Any financial assistance based on athletics skills or participation
