Two very special persons are retiring and will be acknowledged, recognized and appreciated during June and July. Donna Speakman has served as the Director of Older Preschool Children for our Weekday Early Education Program since 1993. Her outstanding contribution to the lives of countless children and families has become virtually legendary during these 21 years of service. S peci al present ati ons will be made to Donna during our 10:30 a.m . Worship

S ervi ce on June 1.

Carol Reynolds, our Director of Weekday Early Education, has served with distinction since January 2001. Her leadership, professionalism and vision have resulted in our WEE program having success and reputation that are literal-ly second to none. Special presentations will be made honoring Carol during our 10:30 a.m. Worship Service on July 13. We will celebrate the wonderful ministry that these outstanding persons have had here at First Baptist at a Recep-tion/Fellowship in their honor in Sunday afternoon July 13 from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. You will want to reserve these

dates on your calendar now so that you can join the refrain of gratitude so well deserved by Donna and Carol.

During the warmer months of June and July last year a recommendation was affirmed by our Deacon Council. Persons who so desire may forego the wearing of coats and ties during Worship Service. Of course, such a choice is

always an option for those attending and leading.

Permit me to encourage you, as I often do, to be as faithful as you possibly can be in your Sunday by Sunday attendance and giving during the Summer Months. Be present and bring guests. Let’s do our very best to make summer a time of church growth and strengthening. God loves you and so do we,

Pastor’s Summer Message Series… For the past two years our pastor has been leading us on a journey through the book of Acts of the Apostles. This summer the series of insightful and applicable messages will be continued.

Chapters 18-23 will provide the Biblical Texts as we explore “The Acts of the Holy Spirit through His People.”

The topics on June 1 will be “Following God Brings Challenges” in the Morning Services and “Faithful Followers Help

Fellow Followers” at 6 pm. Be sure to be expectantly present. Pray that God will speak to your heart through His inspired

word. Bring guests with you on all these occasions.
