Intrinsic Safety and !he ATEX Directive
The ATEX markings are in addition to the
standard Zone markings and indicate compliance to the new directives,
European requlrements centered around the safety 01 hazardous area eqUlpment that became mandatory on July 1, 2003. AII equipment exported nto European member countries must meet the ATEX hazardous and essential health and salety requirements for acceptance. 94/9JEC
