WINTER BANQUET – March 9th

The WINTER BANQUET is Sunday MARCH 9th starting at 12:00 PM (Noon) at the Prairie du Sac Town Hall located at S9903 Hwy. 12, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578. Directions: From Madison, take Hwy 12 WEST to Sauk City. Continue through Sauk City on Hwy 12 about 2.5 miles to the Prairie du Sac Town Hall. The hall will be on your left. Look for the “F-100” signs. From the EAST & SOUTH (eastern Wisconsin and Illinois) take Interstate 39/90/94 to exit #119 (Lodi - Hwy 60 exit WEST). Turn right onto Hwy 60 and head WEST to Lodi (about 4 miles). Go through Lodi following Hwy 60 WEST (about 12 miles) to Prairie Du Sac. At the stop sign on the Wisconsin River Bridge, continue going straight (WEST) on Prairie Street to Hwy 12 (landmark will be a John Deere dealership at Hwy 12). Turn left and go about a ¼ mile to the Prairie du Sac Town Hall. The hall will be on your right. Look for the “F-100” signs. From the WEST at Spring Green (Hwy 14), take Hwy 60 EAST to Hwy 12/Sauk City (about 20 miles). Turn left onto Hwy 12 and go about a ½ mile to the Prairie du Sac Town Hall. Look for the “F-100” signs. From the NORTH, take Hwy 12 SOUTH from Interstate 90/94 at Wisconsin Dells though Baraboo to Prairie du Sac (about 23 miles). The Prairie du Sac Town Hall will be on your right about a ¼ mile past the John Deere dealership on Hwy 12. Look for the “F100” signs. Hotel Information: For those who may want to stay overnight on Saturday, The Cedarberry Inn in Sauk City is a nice, clean place to stay. They are located at 855 Phillips Blvd., Hwy 12 on the west edge of Sauk City. The phone number is (608) 643-6625 or their website is http://www.cedarberryinn.com . The Cedarberry is about 1.5 miles from the Winter Banquet site. Inn has a heated pool, sauna, whirlpool and continental breakfast. If you get lost en route to the Winter Banquet on Sunday, call Rick at (608) 576-3891.

WINTER BANQUET – continued Similar to last year, Dave and Julie Farmer will be providing the meat (BBQ pork) and all persons attending are being asked to bring a dish to pass. What to bring? Well, check out the list below. We will be going by last name. Notice the categories have changed to mix it up a little. A-F bring some sort of side dish G-L bring a type of salad M-Z bring desserts Remember to bring your own drinks. (Alcohol is allowed at the town hall.) Traveling Trophies Also, remember to bring your Traveling Trophies from last year. If you cannot make the Winter Banquet, please get your Traveling Trophy to one of the club officers so it may be presented to its new owner at the banquet. (If you are new to the club, these awards are giving out each year for club members for all kinds of reasons.) Nominations and Voting Club officer nomination and voting will take place at the Winter Banquet. If you cannot attend, please use the nomination and voting forms attached to this newsletter and send to the attention of the newsletter editor, Rick Pribbenow. They must be received by March 8th to be counted. Please write “Ballot” on the outside of the envelope as it will not be opened and counted until the Winter Banquet. Remember, only club members who have paid their dues current will be eligible to vote in the election. Photos Club members, please bring a photo of yourself or you and your family along side, in front of or near your truck to the Winter Banquet. Lisa Watkins will be gathering these along with names and addresses to put in the club roster. That way, club members can match up the people with their trucks. Lisa has volunteered to put this all together for us. Let’s make it a little easier for her.

CLUB NEWS In Remembrance: Our condolences go out to the family of Dave Williamson who died this morning (02/21/08), from a bacterial infection while in Florida. At this time, we do not have any information on when or where his visitation or memorial service will be held. Membership Dues – Hurry – Now Past Due Annual membership dues of $20 were due January 31, 2008. If you are interested in becoming a Lifetime member, the cost is $200 and you won't ever have to worry about remembering to send in your annual dues again. If you are a new member and have joined the club at the truck show in September 2007, or since then, and paid $20, then your 2008 dues are considered paid. Remember if you pay your dues after January 31st, you'll have to pay an additional $2 for each month that you are late. Thanks and hope to see all of you continue to be a part of a really great club! February Meeting Minutes The February meeting was held during the Christmas Party at Babe’s on the west side of Madison. There were 25 adults, no kids and no trucks attending. The meeting was very brief. The meeting was called to order at 8:18 pm by Mike Connor. Mike asked the Secretary to read the nominations from the last meeting. Christmas Party The Christmas Party was held at Babe’s Bar & Grill on Madison’s fashionable west side. We had great food and hospitality. We enjoyed the conversation and the “White Elephant” gift exchange. Some opened unmentionable items, some opened items to repair their trucks, some got items to eat or drink and at least one person got the shaft (a rusty cam shaft). It was loads of fun. See some photos on the next page.

The President’s Letter

Well people, beside the everyday/every other day shoveling of snow on the driveway I haven’t accomplished much on my trucks for progress or maintenance. I have been able to help overhaul an engine for the VP’s truck and that has found its home between the rails. It awaits a final timing and adjustment is all. The next time you see Dave and Julie’s truck give it a good look to see all the details. Dave did a good job fixing/ replacing and upgrading all the little things that you don’t normally notice. Since then I have taken on a little frame repair on my son Sean’s 59 T-Bird. We have had the blessing of using a friend’s shop with a hoist. We have cut out and replaced several pieces of the frame. Ask Sean about it the next time you see him. My daughter is engaged to a big ol’ southern boy named Chuck Blanchard. He helped me get rid of a couple trees in the back yard before winter and seems to like to help out on the VP’s truck when we need an extra hand. He is a biker but don’t hold that against him. What you can give him a hard time over is he drives a “c-word”. He needs an old truck and to get rid of that Chevy. The wedding will be in Florida in mid April. Once again a vacation without the truck. What is this world coming to! Speaking of Florida the wife has asked me to take her there for many years. Never did find a show to drive my truck there other than the Turkey trot around Thanksgiving. Looks like I will be able to take that item off my “to do” list now. The weather has to give us a break soon, so start planning on what you need to get accomplished before the driving season begins. Get your parts together and prepare to thrash in the toy box/ man cave or whatever you call it, until the machine is primed and ready for a great upcoming year. If you need help or just an ear give me or one of your other club members a yell. It is always great to hear from you and talk trucks. It was sure great to see Bruce Wilking at the Christmas party who came all the way from Minnesota to join in the fun. As usual, everyone there had a great time that night. In the Garage Fellow members: Meet Ruthanne Koeshall. She’s the one holding the camshaft she won at this year’s Christmas party. Luckily she has a great sense of humor.

Ruthanne is an avid F100 truck driver and club member. She is also the owner of Racing Collectibles, now located in Edgerton, WI. She lives in the rolling countryside outside of Beloit on her sprawling estate (ok, a few acres) with the awesome shop and cement pond (pool). The shop makes anyone who has been to her place drool. C’mon guys, you know we all wish we had a shop like that. And her pool is the place to be in the heat of summer during a club meeting! Tiki bar anyone? Ruthanne loves driving her truck and you never know where she will show up with it. The 1963 F100 Uni-body she drives is a “Bow-Tie” powered small block V8 backed by an automatic transmission. The “Show Deck” she installed is awesome looking. The wood and polished stainless just jumps out at you. The light tan paint is smooth and glossy. It rides low on the shiny chrome smoothie wheels. Ask Ruthanne about her truck, she’d be happy

to tell you all about it. She’s a proud F100 owner-keep on truckin’ Ruthanne.

The Uni-body trucks were only produced by Ford for 3 years from 1961-1963. They are very unique. A few other club members also own one.

Spring is coming! Let’s start getting excited about getting out the trucks once again! So, until next time, drive safely. Parts Wanted Wanted: 1954 F100 front fenders, running boards and a seat. Call Floyd Johnson at 608-654-5990 Misc. for Sale For Sale: 4 vintage gas pumps #1 Bennett model # 788 (1956), this is a commercial pump, no meter, rare and unusual pump. They were used at truck stops or trucking companies that did not need to know how many gallons were delivered. #2 Gilbarco Model # 96 (1936), it is about 6 foot tall. A little surface rust no major dents or rust. #3 AO Smith model # L-1 (1946), this pump has had all the pump stuff removed from the inside. The computer is still in it. This is the most art deco pump I have. It would make a great pump for the man cave. #4 Bennett model #3136 (1960-1970s), this is like the one we all used to buy gas from. Good condition.
