At Abbey Court School, pupils have put together this ‘Book of Hope’

which we hope will put a smile on your face and be a reminder that

there are brighter times to come.

Pupils on the Secondary site have created their own poems. The theme

‘of better times to come’ shone through in all of them! In classes they

had opportunities to explore a range of different types of poems such as

acrostic, spoken poetry, blank poetry and rhyming poetry.

The pupils shared their work with

two Parent Governors,

Matt Powell and David Lane.

We hope you enjoy reading

‘Pretty Purple Plants’ which won

first place!

Winner: FE2

New Beginnings: Primary Spring Celebration

During these strange and challenging times, we

have all looked for symbols of hope and for better

times to come. Across the nation the rainbow has

brought us all comfort. On the Primary site, each

class were given a colour theme, linking to the

colours of the rainbow, which they used to produce

their flowers. The pupils then donated their artwork

to the local community!

After the

rain comes

the

rainbow!

Key Stage 2 have undertaken a very important regeneration

project. The pupils identified an area on their playground that

they wished to redesign. The pupils met via ‘Teams’ to discuss

and create a design plan. They identified different plants they

wished to grow and have now created a wonderful space for

everyone to enjoy!

Some aspects of the design the pupils discussed were that it

should include fruit and vegetables, a sensory area, a pizza

garden (to grow ingredients to top a pizza), wildflowers to attract

the bees and butterflies, hanging baskets and planters

containing scented flowers for insects. They also wanted the

garden to have a rainbow theme and to hold a Sunflower growing

competition!

Key Stage 2 - Regeneration Project

Getting Back To Normal

As restrictions lift, we have been able to reintroduce Rebound Therapy ,

riding on ‘Tonto’ (our horse simulator) and swimming in our

hydrotherapy pool.

The pupils are focusing on becoming familiar with ‘Tonto’ again and

using their communication aids to make choices.

Pupils have also enjoyed work experience on the farm such as mucking

out the stables and weeding.
