ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
is defined as any device or service that helps a student with a disability to meet his or her IEP goals and participate in the general education setting to the greatest extent.

There are 3 different types of AT: No-tech- available anytime ex. one hand typing Low-tech-non electrical ex. highlighter High –tech- complex electrical system ex. voice activated system

REGULATION WITH ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
Technology Related Assistance Act for Individuals with Disabilities
(public Law 100-407)
Provides funding for statewide systems and services to provide assistive technology devices and service to individuals with disabilities
Federal Law requires any setting that is receiving Federal funding to comply with web accessibility standards
IDEA- 1997 mandates that every IEP team consider A.T when planning the educational program for individuals with disabilities
