How are posters appealing/attractive to the audience?

Does the appeal/attraction differ than that of the

poster?

The posters are seen as appealing to the audience by leaving them with the enigma of who is the character, what happened to them and what's the story. This is created through the image used and the MES. It is also created by the title and its font, and any slogans used.

The attraction of the poster is aimed at a wider audience then that of the trailer. This is because anyone can see the poster as it is advertised everywhere. This means the poster must be aimed at everyone to gain a wider audience.

What are the 3 most prioritised features?

The three most prioritised features on the film posters are:• Main actor/s• Name of film• Main actors name

This is because these are the most important features of the film, as the audience must know the name of the film. The main character’s face on the poster is used to draw fans of that actor into watching the film. It is also so the audience can see what the main character looks like and get a feel for the genre through MES.

Page 19: Assignment 8

Summarise how your film posters reinforce conventions.

My film posters reinforce their conventions/stereotypes through MES. By the characters costume and makeup this gives the audience a sense of what genre the film is without seeing it.The audience is also hinted what genre the film is by the style of font used.

We know this filmis sported relateddue to the characters costumes.

Page 20: Assignment 8

How some film posters challenge the conventions of film posters

This poster does things differently to other posters as the main character is not the main focus. The main character is shown by a shadow but this isn’t the main focus of the poster.
