T will ask Ss to take a good look at the poster and try to spot as many details as they can. Then T will ask Ss to mention all the animals, trees and flowers they can see there. T will ask Ss if they have ever been to a forest before and if it looked like the one in the poster or if they could see other animals and plants. Comprehension and clarification (30 minutes) In the classroom T will ask Ss to open their class books at page 30, will tell Ss they are going to listen to and read a story. T will ask them to read the title of the story, take a look at the pictures and predict what the story will be about, where it will take place, who the main characters will be and what problem they may face in the forest. T will ask Ss to listen to the story again and will ask Ss what solution the children find for their problem and if they can think of an alternative solution. Then T will stick two sentences retrieved from the story which T will use to elicit from Ss the function of expressing direction and draw Ss attention to the notions used for that purpose (across, around, over, through, under, up).

Application (55 minutes) In the computer lab Activity 1 T will ask Ss to read the statements in Activity 1 on page 30 from the class book and circle YES or NO next to each statement.

Activity 2 T will ask Ss to read the questions in Activity 1 on page 31 from the class book and match them with the correct answers.

Activity 3 T will ask Ss to read the questions related to the story they have just read and choose the correct answer.

Activity 4 T will ask Ss to read the statements that summarize the story they have read in the Comprehension moment and to fill in the gaps with the correct word.

T will ask Ss to read the sentences, identify the vocabulary related to nature and match the statements with the corresponding picture.

Activity 6 T will ask Ss to read the words and put them in order so that statements about The Pinecone Solution story are formed.

Activity 6 T will ask Ss to read the clues and complete the crossword with the correct preposition.

Activity 7 T will ask Ss to work in pairs, imagine they live in the forest and write a path to their house. T will ask them to read their paths to their partners who will have to draw them. Ss will then exchange roles. Finally Ss will check their classmates’ drawings to see if they have done them correctly.
