Creating ILOs using Bloom's Taxonomy Aug 15My goal in creating the peer assessments is to encourage your active engagement with the course

material allowing for helpful feedback and discussion on items that do not lend themselves to multiple

    choice question assessments.

Also, while it may seem daunting, the notion of a randomly assigned grader has the potential to be

very fruitful. If you as a learner put in the effort on the peer assessments, then your peers will too.

Given that this is a community of individuals interested in Health Professions and the education ofprofessionals, I trust that most of you will be fair and thoughtful in your support of one anothers

learning. I recognize that some individuals will be limited by time or availability and so I dont believe

it would be wise to ask you each to do a multitude of peer assessments. Your work will be assessed bya minimum of three peers, and you in turn will assess the work of three peers. This allows for multiple

sampling opportunities, as well as a variety of feedback. As I mention in an upcoming lecture video, no

assessment is perfect, but we as teachers and learners do the best we can!

    Peer Grading

After submitting your work, you will get the opportunity to assess the work ofthree of your peers.

Your own work will also be assessed by your peers and feedback will be returned to you. Grading willbe binary: you complete the work or you don't. Since you've worked hard on your submission and

would like your peers to do a good job of assessing your content, please take your time and do a good

job of assessing your peer's efforts in return. Once you have reviewed the work ofthree of your peers,

you will then have the opportunity to reflect upon and reassess your own submission.

    Self Assessment

After you provide feedback to your peers in the peer assessment section, you will be asked to re-visitand reflect on the ILOs you created as part of the original assignment. This self-assessment allows you

the opportunity to reflect upon your own work and integrate new understandings incorporated from the

feedback of your peers. This is a great opportunity to apply your metacognitive practices and skills, andwill not specifically be graded.

    Honor Code

Please remember that you have agreed to the Honor Code, and your submission should be entirelyyours. Our definition of plagiarism follows from standard literature: passing off someone else's work as

your own, whether from your peer or Wikipedia. If you need to quote material, remember to cite your

    source, for example:

"But, as expressed by Spinoza, all things excellent are as difficult as they are rare (Baruch Spinoza,

    "Ethica" source: thinkexist.com)."
