Learning Objectives1. To gain an understanding of Health Science Centre’s history
and application of occupational therapy’s interim pool of tilt wheelchairs
2. Define and differentiate between the 5 categories of “sitters” with respect to sitting balance
3. Understand the 6 relevant pressure redistribution movements in sitting and how to palpate for their effectiveness
4. Translate relevant body measurements into specifications and parameters for tilt wheelchair selection
5. Describe 3 essential components for completing a skin check & how to use this evaluation to guide a sitting protocol
6. List a minimum of 2 factors that would indicate that an individual no longer requires the use of dynamic tilt
