12VDC powersupply pump

5VDC power from Arduino to upper and lower breadboards

Use a 12VDC power supply capable of supplying 1.5A to power the pump, the heater and the solenoid valves. This schematic shows a switch to power the pump and a switch to power the bus strip on the right side of the breadboard. Adding these switches makes it more convenient to test and troubleshoot your system.

We recommend that you power the Arduino and sensor circuits using a single 12VDC power supply. We will use diodes to diffuse back currents from the pump motor, relay coils, and solenoid coils.
