May the 2ID MRT class is

the 9-12th, childcare will be

provided all four days. Re-

member the goal here is to

make a resilient couple so

that we can all "survive"

Korea. Living here is a won-

derful experience but also

hard work. I thank everyone

for their participation and

look forward to seeing you

all at our next meeting. And

don't forget to keep "hunting

the good Stuff." - Melanie

The month of March was

quite busy! We had our

monthly FRG/team building

exercise, which was very

informational and fun. We

discussed and planned up-

coming events and also the

fundraiser which will help

support the Easter Celebra-

tion taking place 23 April.

Alpha Co. is amazing. Our

soldiers work hard and our

spouses always step up and

show support. Over the last

field exercise the Alpha

spouses baked and donated

all the goodies for our sol-

diers. Our Soldiers were so

happy to receive a little love

from home. Next month, as I

mentioned before, is our

Easter celebration, consist-

ing of a Easter egg hunt,

magician, and bouncy

house for the kids. I hope

everyone will come out and

enjoy a Saturday with

friends. For the month of

Family Readiness Corner

Headquarters Platoon “We Set the Standard!” The Assassin Headquarters

Platoon started off the month

of March with the Key Resolve

Exercise. Headquarters per-

sonnel supported the three

week exercise and came back

ready to go the field. CPT Gil-

foil, the company commander

served at Camp Carroll as a key

logistician during the exercise.

In addition, the Headquarters

Platoon stood up the Battalion

Driver’s Program. SSG

Nguyen and SGT Collins the

Battalion Master Drivers and

SGT Phenis the company mas-

ter driver started the program

from scratch. In one month

during the Key Resolve Exer-

cise and throughout the Iron

Stampede Field Exercise (FTX)

the Master Drivers Trained 41

Soldiers.

This month the Headquarters

Platoon welcomes two new

Katusas PV2s Lim and Chung

and one new Soldier, SPC

Robles to the Assassin Team,

Welcome!

The Headquarters Platoon,

continued its hard work follow-

ing the Key Resolve Exercise

during the Battalion Field Exer-

cise. We coordinated the suc-

cessful deployment of the Com-

pany to and from the field with

zero incidents.

During the FTX the Headquar-

ters Platoon kept very busy

conducting NBC, Weapons,

Communications, Site Occupa-

tion and Driver’s Training all in

only 10 days. Also, SGT Bow-

man, SPC Forester and SPC

Rock teamed up to create the

first field Decon/Shower Opera-

tion in the history of the 302d

BSB. Their hard work enabled

Soldiers to maintain proper

field hygiene, and the warm

water lifted morale and spirits.

The Headquarters Platoon

capped their awesome per-

formance in March by coordi-

nating the successful re-

deployment and recovery op-

erations of the company by

bringing all of the Soldiers of

Alpha Company safely home

As always, we set the Stan-

dard, Assassin 5 out!

This has been an very exciting

month for the Assassin Trans-

portation Platoon. There has

been a leadership change but

the high speed tempo is still

the blood line that keeps the

Platoon meeting and exceeding

the standards with SSG Bass

leading the way. The first week

of March there has been a se-

ries of BII layouts to inspect the

level of each squad’s readiness

along with SSA support to keep

the BDE supplied. The second

week the Platoon es-

tablished preparations

for the Battalion led

FTX which include PCC

and PCI’s of all needed equip-

ment and personal gear so

that the mighty Roll Out Platoon

will achieve the upmost suc-

cess. Week three was the busi-

est week of the month with

base set up, base defense,

intensive NCO to Soldier train-

ing, to end with the friendly

completion of a traditional

two man teamed Truck

Rodeo. In the closing week

of March the Platoon “Roll

Out “ continued FTX Iron

Horse Stampede as if it had

just began with an addi-

tional Truck Rodeo that

incorporated the rest of the

Assassin Family and a Flat

Rack movement from Camp

Casey to Camp Carroll with

flawless results. This marks

the beginning of a dynasty. Be

sure to read next months jour-

nal. Assassin 17 OUT!

and the clinch drill. March ended

with Iron Horse Stampede, a ten

day field training exercise (FTX).

The FTX focused training at the

squad and platoon level. The

Fuel Section conducted job skill

training, land navigation, marks-

manship and radio communica-

tions. The Water Section honed

their skills on the Tactical Water

Purification System. A detach-

ment from the Water Section

traveled well south of Area I to

provide water and critical training

For Third Platoon, Alpha Com-

pany, March was packed with

high intensity training and exer-

cises. The month began with the

annual Key Resolve Exercise in

full swing. Third Platoon provided

drivers, guards and an operations

officers in Daegu, Yongsan,

Camp Casey and CP TANGO.

Upon completion of Key Resolve,

3rd sent 10 Soldiers for a week

long Combatives Level I course

where they stoked their Warrior

fier.

2nd PLT “SECOND 2 NONE” TTP’s from the platoon level and

the squad level.

Second Platoon, Alpha Company,

Started off the month of March

with Key Resolve for which the

platoon provided 4 personnel for

guard and operations officers in

Yongsan. We drove on with the

normal class IX push to the 5

maneuver Battalions in the 1 BCT

while also working hard to make

sure all of our preparations for the

Iron Horse Stampede (FTX) were

complete. The FTX gave 2nd PLT

Between February and March

the Alpha Assassins Soldiers

have really started to pick up

the pace in becoming a Com-

pany of standards and accom-

plishments.

We’ve implemented training to

prepare our young Soldiers to

be the best logistical support

company in the Army and the

top notch leaders of tomorrow.

Through the guidance of the

Battalion Command Team,

we’ve implemented outstanding

Sergeant’s Time Training which

provides our junior Non-

Commissioned Officers the

opportunity to train their Sol-

diers on individual tasks to

standard.

Utilizing re-sources in the Bri-

gade and the Battalion to con-

duct logistical Convoys thru out

Korea, given a significant boost

to our Soldier’s and NCOs tech-

nical and tactical proficiency.

The Company continued to

build on the training successes

of the previous few months by

conducting more logistical com-

bat Training as small teams and

then platoons while in the field

at the end of March

“I would like to thank our Team

and their Family personally for

the hard work and dedication in

all that they do.”

1SG Richardson

It was with much gratitude that

we received the wonderful

baked goods while in the field

this month from our FRG. Our

FRG has also been busy raising

funds and working with our plan-

ning team for our company pic-

nic on May 12th. Keep you cal-

endars open, can’t wait!

Many times when we are having

a picnic or a cookout in the

warmer months we purchase

our food from the commissary

and our beverages from the

class VI store. However, there

are ration control guidelines in

effect that dictate what we may

purchase. Please ensure you

remain in compliance with all

ration control policies. There is

a website to help you monitor

your rations and not violate the

policy:

https://pimsk.korea.army.mil/

or...check out USFK REG 60-1.

Another busy month in the

books! The time is flying and

the season is starting to

change. Spring is on the hori-

zon and the weather is warming

(waiting for us to get out of the

field…I think!). Don’t forget to

think safety as the weather

warms up and increase your

water consumption as you en-

joy the outdoor beauty of Korea.

If you haven’t yet, you can pick

up an MWR tour book for April,

May, and June. There are a lot

of great trips planned to the

zoo, museums, and some out-

door activities. Take advantage

of these opportunities if you

can.

I would like to extend a hearty

“thank-you” to all who make our

FRG such a great organization.

forget to check them often.

standard!
