One of the ways we show Christ around us is by opening our building and grounds to individuals and groups from the com-munity. There are a number of people (and dogs) who regularly walk on our prayer trails. Even without any advertising, we are receiving requests from people in the com-munity for space in our community garden this year. The parking lot is used regularly by Poke-
mon Go players. There is a geo cache on our prop-erty that was placed there several years ago by a Girl Scout troop. We regu-
larly host Girl Scout troops (3 currently), LaLeche League meet-ings, Lansing Area Patch-ers, and an Arts and Spir-its group. We offer occa-
sional space to groups from Community Mental Health (for professional development events) and Waverly Schools (for AP
testing). While we do not charge any rent, a num-ber of these groups donate money or time. It is wonderful that we have the space and facili-
ties to show Christian hospitality to so many different groups and indi-viduals. It truly is a way we show Christ around us.
Living Into Our Vision
Thank You, Delta!
Howling Dogs Music Studio uses our sanctuary for their yearly piano and voice recital. Here is a thank you note we re-cently received: I am deeply grateful for our yearly recital in your
beautiful space. In my 25 plus years doing this I have never had such a lovely relationship with a church and its people. I feel so blessed. My hope is that we bring some added joy to you and your
establishment! Linda Abar, Howling Dogs Music Studio

APRIL 2018
Easter Continental Breakfast, 8:15-9:30 am
Join us downstairs be-fore worship on Easter Sunday for a continental breakfast. We will have
fruit, muffins and pastries (including gluten and dairy free items). Fellow-ship with our church fam-
ily is a great way to start the day.
Please pray for our country and the divisions we face. Pray that we would learn how to listen to and show re-spect to those with whom we dis-agree. Help us to find common ground. Also include the following families in your prayers this month: week of April 1: Ed Troshak, Jack & Sharon VanCourt, Brad Venman; week of April 8: Jon & Meg Vogler, Helen Weinman, Terri Westmoreland,
Norm Wilson; week of April 15: Karen Winn-Dobie, Dan, Anna Marie, Isaiah, Ethan, & Aiden Woloszyn, Ken, Jes-sica, Savannah, Callum & Luke Wright; week of April 22: Jeff & Sandy Akright, Pat Baker, Bob & Wendy Benezette; week of April 29: Nancy Bessette, Steven, Jacklynne, Jillien, Briahna, Grace, Jackson, & Eli Bishop.
I love Easter, and I love spring. I like seeing life come from death. I like seeing new beginnings. I like redis-covering the flowers in my gardens. Spring is time of cleaning—inside our homes we open the windows to blow out stale air, freshening up our homes and belongings. Spring is time of cleaning—outside we clear the debris out of our gardens to make way for new life, new growth.
Throughout the Lenten season we have been remembering—remembering God’s covenants with us and the way those covenants are rooted in God’s great love for us. As we move into spring this year, I en-courage you to ponder the cleaning you need in your spiritual life. Is there debris that needs to be cleared away to make space for new life and new growth?
May this season be a time of growth and new life for each of you.
Are you interested in learning more about Delta, being Presbyterian, and what it means to be a member of this congregation? We will have 2 gather-ings for those interested in exploring
membership. We will meet at the Place to Ponder following worship on April 15 and 22. We will receive new members on April 29.

Strengthening Christ in Us
Wendy on Vacation April 2-8. Wendy will be on vacation the week following Easter. She will not be going out of town, so if you have an emergency you may call her at home (721-1075).
Taizé Prayer Worship
A Taizé Prayer Service contains Scripture, candle light, music, prayers, meditation, and periods of silence.
Our next Taizé Prayer Service will be on April 22, 6:30 pm. Join us for an evening of reflection amid a calming, candle-lit setting.
Holy Humor Sunday. Since Wendy will be on vacation April 2-8, Delta’s youth, led by Chey-enne Storey, will be leading worship on Sunday, April 8. The Sunday after Easter has been called Holy Humor Sunday because of the “trick” that Jesus’ resurrection played on the devil. Please join us on Holy Humor Sunday to see what the youth have in store for us. I bet it will be a fun time!

Changes are happening at Camp Greenwood, as the leaders continue to work through what it means to be an independent organization apart from the Presbytery of Lake Michi-gan. This year there is a new director, and he will be coming to share with us about Camp Greenwood during
worship on Sunday, April 22. There will also be an opportunity to chat with him following the service. Delta has a long history with Camp Greenwood, and our support will con-tinue going forward. Plans are being made to refurbish picnic tables there this year. Watch for more information.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
God continues to work in and through us here at Delta, and there is much in which we can rejoice.
We rejoice in the efforts of the property team, who cleaned out the storage room next to the La Leche room. There had been an issue with mold, so they cleaned all the chairs stored in there and sealed the cush-ions in space bags. Thanks to all of them for their hard work. We rejoice that Meredith Jackson has agreed to serve as substitute child care provider on an as-needed basis.
We rejoice that Briahna Bishop’s friend, Dia, is healthier and that she has found one of our quilts to be a comfort. We rejoice in the experience of having toddlers in worship again. We rejoice that the sign has been refurbished with LED lights, making it much brighter and easier to read. We rejoice in the opportunities that Taizé worship offers to our members and the wider community. We rejoice in Sharon VanCourt’s 80th birthday and her successful can-cer surgery. We rejoice that again this year our youth will lead us in worship as we
celebrate Holy Humor Sunday on April 8. What gives you cause to rejoice around Delta? Let the office know and we will include it next month.
through 9th grade to have fun and learn more about God. It also gives parents an opportunity to enjoy a night out. If you would like to help there is a sign-up sheet on the blue bulletin board in the narthex.
Our next Friday Night Fun will be Friday, April 13, 6:00 pm-9:00 pm. This is the last Friday Night Fun of the program year. We will start again in September. This is a wonderful opportunity for children age 3 (and potty trained)

Mission Project for April: Personal Needs
A joint ministry of North Westmin-ster Presbyterian Church and Chris-tian Services, the Personal Needs closet provides personal products to
those in need. Bring your donations of deodorant, dish soap, paper tow-els, toilet paper, tissues, shampoo, laundry detergent, soap, toothpaste,
toothbrushes and feminine hygiene products to Delta and leave them in the box at the top of the stairs.

The Mad Hatters continue to share yarn, patterns, advice, and fellowship as they gather downstairs from 3 to 5 on Monday afternoons. In addition to hats, they have been known to make slipper socks, mittens, and scarves.

Delta will be manning a concession booth at the MSU Green & White Game on April 7, 5:00 pm. It will be a smaller booth (not our usual Upper B) and on the concourse level. It will give us a chance to experience a smaller booth and see if that is an option for upcoming years. The number of volunteers dwindled last year. Face it, our congregation is shrinking, and ain’t none of us getting any younger. Your management

We encourage anybody and everybody who has an opinion, one way or the other, to take a few minutes and express that opin-ion to one or all of your team so an informed decision can be made prior to receiving next season’s contract.

A Story from Delta’s Hats & Quilts
The Mad Hatters and Quilters have placed some hats and quilts in a cabinet under
the Commitment Center for you to distribute. Please share your stories about how they are received in the
book on the Commitment Center. In each Ambassador, we will feature one of those stories. Here is the story for April:
Briahna Bishop had a friend, Dia, who was critically ill. She asked her great-grandmother, Sharon VanCourt, if she could give her one of the quilts our quilters make. She was familiar with the quilts
after the family received them fol-lowing the birth of her twin broth-ers. Sharon picked one up from the church and they delivered it. Dia is now home from the hospital. She likes her quilt so much she keeps it with her all the time, even when she has to leave the house.
Spring Clean Up Day: May 5
The Property Team has set a date for the Spring Clean Up Day. It will be on Saturday, May 5, 9:00 am, with a rain date of May 19, same time. Vari-ous projects are scheduled to be tackled. If you have any questions about the work to be done and what
tools will be needed, please talk to Jack Keys, moderator of the Property Team.

Have You Ever Wondered?
You may have noticed some changes to the sanctuary. The choir, piano, and place to ponder have all been moved. The choir always moves to the center during Advent to accom-modate the Christmas tree, and this year a number of people commented that they liked it because they could hear the choir better. After hearing this feedback, we de-cided to try having the choir and piano switch places when they moved back. While it was easier for the congrega-
tion to hear the choir from this position, the corner where the piano was placed did not have good acoustics. The choir could not hear the piano, and the pian-ist could not hear the choir. So, we moved the choir back to the center. This opened up a good amount of space where the choir had been, and it was suggested we moved the Place to Ponder up there. This creates more
room near the food table, easing congestion during coffee hour. It is wonderful to be a congregation that continues to seek ways to improve things and is ac-cepting of the resulting changes.
