Five star Colombian resort streamlines maintenance efficiencies and increases onsite security at both Las Américas Casa de Playa and Las Américas Torre del Mar with installation of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s Elsafe SENTINEL II. Customer: Hotel Las Américas, a luxurious five star hotel sitting on the shores of the Caribbean Sea in Cartagena, Colombia, is home to 530 guestrooms between its two on-site accommodations – Las Américas Casa de Playa and Las Américas Torre del Mar. Offering guests a high-class experience with its various leisure activities, onsite restaurants, a relaxing spa and state-of-the-art workout facility, Hotel Las Américas prides itself on having some of the best views of both the city and the stunning blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. Challenge: The hotel was previously using an alternate in-room electronic safe that presented two main challenges. The safes required a high level of regular maintenance and frequent, costly battery changes. Looking to streamline its system and cut down on maintenance costs, Hotel Las Américas decided to upgrade to an in-room safe solution that would address these challenges as well as offer a highly secure, user-friendly in-room security solution large enough to store oversized personal items. The management team at the hotel was also looking for a vendor partner that could provide top support on any issues that might arise. The property was confident this in-room electronic safe would meet the needs of both guests and staff. The Elsafe SENTINEL II allows the hotel to provide a user-friendly in-room safe to its guests without sacrificing security. Anti-tamper labyrinths protect the safe’s electronics from manipulation, and a cold-pressed steel door, along with several other design features, delivers a safe that guests can fully trust to secure their valuables. With the Elsafe SENTINEL II’s long battery life, hotel maintenance staff has already seen significant improvements in both the frequency with which battery changes need to be made and the time it takes to perform this task. This has significantly cut down on costs associated with this type of maintenance, creating more added benefits for the hotel.
