Magazine 1

The mast head title Big and bold meaning it is eye-catching and easy to recognise for readers.

Straplines Used to highlight what other stars are featured within the magazine.

The central image is Charli XCX who’s name is also featured in bold so she can be recognised easily.

A mid shot of her is used to show the fashion aspect.

Her gaze is towards the camera which is direct address to the reader.

Slogan‘Music/Fashion/Film’This is to explain the magazine content.

The magazine’s layout is simple and not overcrowded with information.

The colour palette used is not too colourful. Blacks, whites and pinks are used throughout even with text.

Magazine 2

The central image is of Robert Downey JR. A mid shot is used against a white background to make him the centre of attention and to stand out.

The colour palette used is the same throughout (orange and black). The text stands out nicely against Robert as he is wearing blue making it easy to read the text.

Cover lines/tag lines are used to advertise articles within the magazine.

The white background is effective because Robert stands out against it, making him the centre of attention.

Slogan ‘Style & Substance’ this explains to the reader what the magazine talks about.

FontThe font of the title is different to the rest of the magazine this is so it stands out.

Magazine 3

The colour palette used throughout the cover is consecutive (orange, white and black), both the text and image follow this colour palette.

A free video lesson is promoted on the cover of the issue to lure readers in.

The central image used is a mid shot of a character. Unlike most magazines its not an actual photo but a painting. This fits in with the theme of the overall magazine as its an arts based magazine.

The mast head is simple and easy to recognise.

A variety of fonts are used for cover lines/tag lines. Also images are used along with some cover lines.

SloganA slogan is used at the top to let the reader know what the magazine is about.

No gaze is used therefore there is no direct address. The character is looking of into the distance.

Magazine 4

A long shot is used of the celebrities. Unlike other magazines there are five main stars.

The gaze is direct address.

The feature article cover line has the biggest size text to attract readers as this is what will sell the magazine.

The mast head of the magazine is clear, and stands out.

Colour paletteThe colour palette for the text is white and yellow, and the colour palette for the main image is quite dull colours so the text stands out against it.

Magazine 5The mast head of the magazine is clear and easy to read.

A close up of the actress Jennifer Lawrence is used as she is the central image of the magazine.

Her gaze is direct address towards the reader.

The palette colourThe text is pink and white except for the text talking about Jennifer Lawrence this is so it stands out against the rest.

There is also about three different fonts used. The one for the title is different to the rest so it stands out.

The background is not busy making Jennifer Lawrence stand out. Also this makes the text easy to read.
