Network Goals Network Goals

Ultimate goal of projectFull and practical integration of ASA & SRA in industry and research with good communications

Aims and ObjectivesTo provide a forum where specific research and development issues can be discussed, including "Modelling Process".

To document current practices and trends.

To establish guidelines to best practices and generate case studies and benchmark test results wherever possible, after identification.

To identify the research required by the UK universities in conjunction with industry actively involved in structural engineering work, in order to design a structure with just adequate but not excessive levels of safety.

To ensure that reports of research projects are disseminated to industrial partners and help industry to use these results in their design process.

To promote better understanding of industry's requirements in the areas of reliability analysis techniques, using advanced structural analysis.

Network StructureNetwork Structure Steering GroupThe Steering Group consists of members from academic and industrial backgrounds.

The group meets quarterly to discuss the progress of the Network, organise seminars and set policy.

Industry-related special-interest groupsThese groups will work independently within their industries but will link with other groups where there are benefits across

industry boundaries. Anyone can join any group which they are interested in. Each group is guided by a Champion and a Mentor.

Generic GroupsAs well as the industry-based groups, the network will have at its centre three generic groups to pull it all together: Application,

Implementation and Acceptance (AIA), Advanced Structural Analysis (ASA) and Structural Reliability Analysis (SRA). These groups will concentrate on the integration issue, basic methods and provide suggestions for projects.
