Information Gathering

A project starts when a customer contacts us with an idea for project. As the conversation progresses we get a good idea of timelines and initial requirements. When we have collected enough information about the project we can estimate how much work is involved and which tools are needed. A statement of work is the outcome of this process: a description of the project scope, costs and schedule.

Requirements Specification

Good planning and research at the beginning of the project saves time and questions later on. During the requirement specification phase we produce two documents: a technical requirements document and a functional specification.

The technical requirements document sets out the technological context for the project: what operating systems, programming languages and databases we will use, any hardware- or other considerations that we need to take into account.

The functional specification is a conceptual model of the solution, based on the statement of work and any other information that we have gathered.

At this point we also firm up the estimates given in the statement of work.

Implementation

When the technical requirements are fully understood and the functional specification has been signed off by the client, we implement.

The development process is transparent. You get access to the Consulting Wiki, the virtual consulting workplace. All project details are shared so that you have visibility of our progress and can comment.

Delivery

When the product has been tested and works as expected, we hand over the solution to you. The delivery includes a test report, user documentation as well as both the source code and compiled code.

At this point the solution is ready for deployment and use.

Support and Change Requests

We are very happy to provide technical and development support for the solution after delivery. Requirements and use cases sometimes change over time. We can manage change requests and issue updates to the solution when needed.
