Dear ASPE NorCAL Members and Prospective Members, I hope this message finds everyone well. I see that the engineering community has adapted well working remotely from home. Our chapter will be setting up webinars in place of meeting in person. This months webinar is an interesting one that I am sure all will take something away from it. V.P. Legislative Message April 2020 VP Legislative Report

Greetings ASPE members, associates, affiliates and friends. My sincere hope is that life finds you and yours healthy and safe. I have been monitoring the industry as best as I can from my “shelter in place” office. The IAPMO Standards Council met February 27 at IAPMO headquarters in Ontario, CA. At the meeting I was appointed to serve on the UPC and UMC Technical Committees. The TC appointees will be par-ticipating in the promulgation of the 2024 IAPMO codes. I attended the NFPA 58 Liquified Petroleum Gases Technical Committee meeting in Charlotte, NC on February 27, 2020. The CA Building Standards Advisory Commission met to review possible mid-cycle amendments to the 2019 CPC and CMC. OSHPD and HCD pro-posals were non-substantial language clean-up suggestions to the 2019 codes. As always, the meetings were conducted in Sacramento, CA. All future industry meetings such as ICC Chapter, IAPMO Chapter, and NFPA meetings have been either canceled or postponed. Upcoming events: IAPMO WE-STAND TC meeting 3/24-3/25 2020 in On-tario, CA is canceled ASPE Seattle Chapter Product Show postponed to June ASPE Conference 9/11-9/15 in New Orleans, LA is tentative IAPMO Conference 9/13-9/17 in Charlotte, NC is tentative Phillip Ribbs VP Legislative
