1. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL COMFORM TO:

2. THE SETTING OUT AND ELEVATION OF THE STRUCTURE SHALL BEAPPROVED BY THE CONTRACT MANAGER PRIOR TO THE START OF ANYCONSTRUCTION WORK
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE BOUNDARIES OF THE STRUCTURE.HE SHALL PROVIDE AREAS THAT REQUIRES HIS OWN USE. IT IS THEINTENTION OF THE PLANS TO UNDISTURBED EVERYTHING ON THEUNFINISHED WORK. ALL DISTURBED AREAS BY CONSTRUCTION SHALL BERESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION AS DIRECTED BY THE CONTRACT MANAGER
4. ALL EXISTING STRUCTURE AND OBSTRUCTION WHICH WILL INTERFERETHE WORK SHALL BE COMPLETELY REMOVED AND DISPOSED OFFFROM THE SITE.
5. ALL SALVAGEABLE MATERIALS SHALL BE PROPERLY AND CAREFULLYDISMANTLED AND DEPOSITED ON A CONVENIENT SITE AS INSTRUCTEDBY THE CONTRACT MANAGER.
GENERAL
1. THESE DRAWINGS SHALL BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL ARCHITECTURAL AND OTHERCONSULTANTS' DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND WITH SUCH OTHER WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS AS MAY BEISSUED DURING THE COURSE OF THE CONTRACT. ANY DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE REFERRED TO THECONTRACT MANAGER BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.
2. ALL MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RELEVANT AND CURRENTA.S. CODES AND WITH THE BY-LAWS AND ORDINANCES OF THE RELEVANT BUILDING AUTHORITIES EXCEPTWHERE VARIED BY THE PROJECT SPECIFICATION.
3. SETTING-OUT DIMENSIONS AND SIZES OF STRUCTURAL MEMBERS SHALL NOT BE OBTAINED BY SCALINGTHE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS. ANY SETTING-OUT DIMENSIONS SHOWN IN THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGSSHALL BE CHECKED BY THE CONTRACTOR BEFORE CONSTRUCTION COMMENCES. ANY DISCREPANCIES INTHE DOCUMENTS MUST BE RESOLVED BEFORE ORDERING OR PLACING ANY MATERIALS.
4. DURING CONSTRUCTION THE STRUCTURE SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN A SAFE AND STABLE CONDITIONAND NO PART SHALL BE OVERSTRESSED. TEMPORARY BRACING SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTORAS REQUIRED TO KEEP THE WORKS AND EXCAVATIONS STABLE AT ALL TIMES.
5. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE ALL LEVELS ARE IN METRES AND ALL DIMENSIONS ARE IN MILLIMETRES.
FORMWORK
1. THE DESIGN CERTIFICATION, CONSTRUCTION AND PERFORMANCE OF THE FORMWORK AND FALSEWORK IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR.
2. DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION AND STRIPPING TIMES TO COMPLY WITH AS 3610 AND AS 3600 UNLESSOTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE CONTRACT MANAGER.
3. FOR FINISH TO FORMED CONCRETE SURFACES REFER TO SPECIFICATION.
FOUNDATIONS
1. THE LEVELS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS ARE FOR PRICING PURPOSES ONLY.
2. ACTUAL FOOTINGS SHALL BE BASED ON A MATERIAL HAVING A SAFE BEARING CAPACITY AS LISTED INTHE TABLE BELOW UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, AND SHALL BE INSPECTED BY THE CONTRACT MANAGERBEFORE CONCRETE IS PLACED.
3. SAFE BEARING CAPACITIES: STRIP FOOTINGS 100 kPa PAD FOOTINGS 100 kPa
4. BACKFILL OVER FOOTINGS SHALL BE APPROVED GRANULAR MATERIAL COMPACTED IN LAYERS OF 150mm MAXIMUM TO AT LEAST 90% OF THE MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS 1289.PROJECT CONTROL TESTING SHALL BE CARRIED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS 3600.
5. NO ADMIXTURES SHALL BE USED IN CONCRETE UNLESS APPROVED IN WRITING.
6. MINIMUM CLEAR COVER TO REINFORCEMENT TO BE 50mm MIN TO TIES IN EXPOSED EXTERNALFACES OF BEAMS AND COLUMNS.
7. ALL REINFORCEMENT SHALL BE FIRMLY SUPPORTED ON PLASTIC CHAIRS AT NOT GREATER THAN 1METRE CENTRES BOTH WAYS, BARS SHALL BE TIED AT ALTERNATE INTERSECTIONS.
8. CONCRETE DIMENSIONS SHOWN DO NOT INCLUDE THICKNESSES OF APPLIED FINISHES.
9. NO HOLES, CHASES OR EMBEDMENT OF PIPES OTHER THAN THOSE SHOWN ON THE STRUCTURALDRAWINGS SHALL BE MADE IN CONCRETE MEMBERS WITHOUT THE PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THECONTRACT MANAGER.

5. JOINT THICKNESS SHALL BE MINIMUM 6 mm AND MAXIMUM 12 mm. FACE SHELLS ANDPERPENDS SHALL BE FULLY BEDDED IN MORTAR.
6. ALL CORES ARE TO BE FILLED WITH 20 MPa CONCRETE (10 mm AGGREGATE SIZE, MAXIMUMSLUMP 200).
7. PROVIDE CLEAN OUT HOLES AT BOTTOM OF ALL FILLED CORES.
8. PROVIDE 65 mm COVER FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE BLOCKWORK TO ALLOW ADEQUATEGROUT COVER TO REINFORCEMENT.
9. PROVIDE VERTICAL JOINTS IN BLOCKWORK AT MAX 10 METRE CENTRES UNLESS NOTEDOTHERWISE (UNO).

10. CONSTRUCTION JOINTS WHERE NOT SHOWN SHALL BE LOCATED TO THE APPROVAL OF THECONTRACT MANAGER.
11. THE FINISHED CONCRETE SHALL BE A DENSE HOMOGENEOUS MASS, COMPLETELY FILLINGTHE FORMWORK THOROUGHLY EMBEDDING THE REINFORCEMENT AND FREE OF STONE POCKETS.ALL CONCRETE SHALL BE COMPACTED WITH MECHANICAL VIBRATORS.
12. CURING OF ALL CONCRETE SHALL BE ACHIEVED BY KEEPING SURFACES CONTINUOUSLY WETFOR A PERIOD OF 3 DAYS, AND PREVENTION OF LOSS OF MOISTURE FOR A TOTAL OF 7 DAYSFOLLOWED BY A GRADUAL DRYING OUT. APPROVED SPRAYED ON CURING COMPOUNDS MAYBE USED WHERE NO FLOOR FINISHES ARE PROPOSED. POLYTHENE SHEETING OR WET HESSIAN MAYBE USED IF PROTECTED FROM WIND AND TRAFFIC.
13. THE CONTRACT MANAGER SHALL BE GIVEN A MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS NOTICE FORREINFORCEMENT INSPECTION AND CONCRETE SHALL NOT BE DELIVERED UNTIL FINALAPPROVAL IS OBTAINED.
15. REINFORCEMENT IS REPRESENTED DIAGRAMMATICALLY AND NOT NECESSARILY IN TRUEPROJECTION.
