#SCCPD If you are organising a CPD

session, remember that teachers have learning styles too.

reflecting the goals and needs of the individual. More liaison inter & intra authority using teacher expertise

There’s no cavalry . The future is online. Ur colleagues are ur best sources of help!

"Don't follow leader, Watch the parkin' meters"

the more it is prescribed the more it will be resented

CPD is personal and documented but entirely the professional's choice

style, timing, vehicle for presentation can have a big impact as well as content... (look at teachmeet - enthusiasm)

Like this idea CPD *Collaborative* Professional Development (teachers working together)

evidence of CPD should be a condition of qualification to teach, like so many other professions. Reviewed by peers

Best CPD tends to be stuff that 1) people are interested in, and 2) they can see practical applications for and benefits of.

Need to move away from teachers feeling that CPD is something that is done to them and/or for them.

Podcasts are great source of CPD & ideas. Download & listen on a computer, mp3 player or iPod at home, walking the dog or travelling.

Don't let distance get in the way of quality CPD. Use Flashmeeting & Glow Meet to participate from the comfort of your own computer

future of CPD will be virtual? more spontaneous? more organic? funky? democratic? most of all teacher-lead I hope&research-referenced
