AL-ASMA-UL-HUSNA (THE BEAUTIFUL NAMES OF GOD)

The most beautiful names belong to God, so call on Him thereby. (7:180)Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of GOD, for without doubt inthe remembrance of God do hearts find satisfaction. (13:28)

Allah The God. The onlyone Almighty. Healone is worthy ofworship.

Al-Mubdi The Originator. Hewho creates allcreatures initiallywithout matter ormodel.

Al-Adl The Just. He who isEquitable.

Al-Mughni The Enricher. TheSufficer.

Al-Aakhir The Last. Al-Muhaymin

The Guardian. Hewho watches overand protects allthings. (Helper inPeril)

Al-Afu The Pardoner. Hewho pardons all whosincerely repents.

Al-Muhsi The Appraiser. Hewho knows thenumber of everysingle thing inexistence, even toinfinity.

Al-Alim The Knower ofAll. He who has fullknowledge of allthings.

Al-Mu'id The Restorer. Hewho recreates Hiscreatures after Hehas annihilatedthem.

Al-Ahad The One. The onlyone.

Al-Mu'izz The Bestower ofHonors. He whoconfers honor anddignity.

Al-Awwal The First. Al-Mujib The Responder toPrayer. He whogrants the wisheswho appeals to him.

Al-Aziz The Mighty &

Strong.

Al-Muqit The Nourisher. He

who gives everycreature it'ssustenance.

Al-Azeem TheMagnificent. TheMost High. He whois Most Splendid.

Al-Muqaddim

The Expediter. Hewho brings forwardwhatever He wills(Forewarner).

Al-Badi TheIncomparable. Hewho is withoutmodel or match,and who brings intobeing worlds ofamazing wonder.

Al-Muqsit The EquitableOne. He who doeseverything withproper balance andharmony.

Al-Ba'ith TheResurrector. Hewho brings the deadto life, and raisesthem from theirtombs.

Al-Muqtadir

The Creator of AllPower. He whodisposes at His willeven of the strongestand mightiest of Hiscreatures.

Al-Baqi The EverlastingOne. Eternal (in thefuture).

Al-Mumit The Taker ofLife. He who createsthe death of a livingcreature.

Al-Bari The Maker of

Order (SkilledWorker). O Evolverwho created allthings so that eachwhole and its partsare in perfectconformity andharmony.

The Avenger. He

who justly inflictsupon wrongdoers thepunishment theydeserve.

Al-Barr Source of allGoodness. He whotreats His servantstolerantly, and

whose goodnessand kindness arevery great indeed.

Al-Musawwir

The Shaper ofBeauty. He whodesigns all things,giving each its

particular form andcharacter (Sculptor).

Al-Basir The All-Seeing. Tothose who invokethis Name onehundred timesbetween theobligatory andcustomary prayersin Fridaycongregation, Allah

grants esteem inthe eyes of others.

Al-Muta'ali The SupremeOne. He is exalted inevery respect, farbeyond anything themind could possiblyattribute to Hiscreatures.

Al-Basit TheReliever (Uncloser). He who releases,letting thingsexpand.

Al-Mutakabbir

The Majestic. Hewho demonstratesHis greatness in allthings and in allways.

The All Merciful. Hewho wills goodnessand mercy for all Hiscreatures.

Al-Halim TheForbearing. Hewho is MostClement.

Ar-Raqib The Watchful One.

Al-Hamid ThePraisedworthy. Allpraise belongs toHim, and who alonedo the tongues of allcreation laud.

Ar-Rashid The RighteousTeacher. He whomoves all things inaccordance with Hiseternal plan,bringing themwithout error andwith order andwisdom to theirultimate destiny(Unerring).

Al-Haqq The Truth. Hewhos being enduresunchangingly.

Ar-Ra'uf The Kind. He who isvery compassionate(Indulgent).

Al-Hasib The Accounter. Hewho knows everydetails.

Ar-Razzaq The Sustainer. Hewho provides allthings useful to Hiscreatures.

Al-Jabbar The

Compelling. Hewho repairs allbroken thing, andcompletes thatwhich is incomplete.

As-Sabur The Patient

One. He who ischaracterized byinfinite patience.

Al-Jaleel The Glorious. Hewho is Lord ofMajesty andGrandeur.

As-Salaam The Source ofPeace. He who freesHis servants from alldanger.

As-Samad The Eternal. Hewho is the onlyrecourse for theending of need andthe removal ofaffliction.

Al-Kabir The Greatest. Hewho supremelygreat.

As-Sami The Hearer ofAll. Allah takes careof all the needs ofthose who invokethis glorious Nameone hundred times.

Al-Karim The Generous. Hewhose generosity ismost abundant.

Ash-Shahid

The Witness. Hewho is presenteverywhere andobserves all things.

Al-Khabir The All Aware. Hewho has the

knowledge of inner& most secretaspects of all things.

Ash-Shakur

The Rewarder ofThankfulness. He

who gratefullyrewards good deeds(Appreciator).

Al-Khafid The Abaser. Hewho brings down,diminishes.

At-Tawwab

The Acceptor toRepentance. Hewho is ever ready toaccept repentanceand to forgive sins(Relenting).

Al-Khaliq The Creator. Hewho brings from

non-being intobeing, creating allthings in such a waythat He determinestheir existence andthe conditions andevents they are toexperience.

Al-Vakil The Trustee /Guardian. He who

manages the affairsof those who dulycommit them to Hischarge, and wholooks after thembetter than theycould themselves.

Al-Latif The SubtleOne. He who knowsthe minutestsubtleties of all

things.

Al-Vali The ProtectingFriend. He who is anearest friend to Hisgood servants.

Al-Majid The MajesticOne. He whoseglory is most greatand most high.

Al-Wahhab The Giver of All. Hewho constantlybestows blessings ofevery kind.

Al-Ma'jid The Glorious. He,whose dignity andglory are mostgreat, and whosegenerosity andmunificence are
