Limited preparation format, the topicis announced, roughly 30 minutes
before the debate.

The Government Team should defend themotion.
The opposition Team should negate themotion
The 3 members of the team, each of whichgives a 7 minute speech.
The Prime minister or Deputy Primeminister is given 4 minute reply speech
The Leader of Opposition or Deputy leaderof Opposition is charged with giving 4minute reply speech.

The reply speech is meant to clarify the
debate without bringing forth newarguments.
In the 7 minute speeches, the opposingteam can stand up and ask for Points ofInformation (POI) after the first minute anduntil the sixth minute.
A POI should be a brief question orcomment and not a long-windedmonologue or back and forth crossexamination session.
