“We Grow Great By

Dreams”

By Woodrow WilsonWe grow great by dreams. All big men are

dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a

spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's

evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but

others nourish and protect them, nurse them through

bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and

light which come always to those who sincerely

hope that their dreams will come true.

Q1: What does Woodrow

Wilson mean by “all big

men are dreamers”

A: There are many different possible answers based

on the way you interpret the quote. I believe that „big

men‟ are wise men, sophisticated men, aspiring men

and achieving men

Page 4: Ash's

Q2: What kind of things do

people see in the „soft

haze‟?A: I think people see a vision of themselves in

the future, of them achieving their goals &

dreams, striving to reach new heights, and going

even further.

Page 5: Ash's

Q3. What is the difference

between those who let their

dreams die and those

whose dreams come true.

A: The difference is that those who make their

dreams come true are more cheerful, happy and

confident knowing that if they believe, they will

succeed, and only then will you achieve. Those who

let their dreams die are sad, glum and downhearted.

They will usually keep a monotonous routine and

won‟t like to get out of their „comfort zone‟ and try

new things.

Page 6: Ash's

Q4: How do people make

their dreams come true?1. List some of your dreams, the ones you have achieved and the ones you

would like to achieve.

2. Think back, what did you do differently when you achieved your dreams.

3. Think of some of the steps and sacrifices you might need to make to

achieve your dream.

4. Write down a high level detailed action plan on how you will succeed.

5. Stick your action plan in a place where you might look everyday. (e.g.

bedroom, desk, office corner etc.)

6. Find people who will support you and your dream and make it come true.

(e.g. coach, mentor, family, close friends)

Q8: Research Woodrow

WilsonThomas Woodrow Wilson was born on the 28th of December 1856. in Staunton, Virginia.

He was a graduate of the College Of New Jersey (now the University of Princeton), John

Hopkins University, Davidson College and The University of Virginia. He received a PhD

from John Hopkins University and a Masters of Law degree from the College of NJ. He

then went on to be the President of the College of NJ which was now renamed The

University Of Princeton as it stands today. He served a period of 10 years as president,

from 1902-1910. Wilson began to show interest in leadership so he ran for the Governor of

NJ in 1911. He had won the election in early 1911 and served as the 34th Governor of NJ

from Jan 17th 1911-March 1st 1913. He then later went on to run for the President of USA in

the 1912 election. Wilson was running for the Democratic Party, his competitors were,

Theodore Roosevelt of the Progressive Part. Roosevelt had already been the 26th

president so he had some experience. William H. Taft, the incumbent, current serving 27th

president. He was running for the republican party trying to gain a second term as

president. Finally, Eugene V. Debbs. Debbs had only been the Senate of Indiana State and

was running for his first term as president like Wilson. Wilson had won the election by a

landslide by capturing an outstanding 40 states out of 48. Roosevelt, Taft & Debbs only

managed to capture 6,2 & 0 respectively. Soon the 1916 election had come up. Unlike the

last election, Wilson had only one Opponent. Charles E. Hughes Of the Republican party.

Hughes had been the Governor of NY. The election was very tight. The last state to file in

their votes was California and whoever captured California would win the election. And

Wilson had won. It had been a crucial time though. The first world war had broke out and

all countries were against each other. USA was apart of the allies along with Great Britain,

The commonwealth, Italy etc. By 1918 the war had ended and the Allies had beaten the

Central Powers (German Empire, Ottoman Empire etc.). Wilson had been awarded a

Nobel peace prize for his contributions to the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nation

decisions?

By Ash Dravid

Page 12: Ash's

What is a drugA drug is a chemical or substance that affects the

way your body works

Drugs have to pass through your body and into your

brain

Once in your brain they can change the ways your

brain thinks, reacts and they can even change your

brain cells

Once they change the brain cells, they send

different messages through the body that can affect

you and harm you

Page 13: Ash's

How drugs affect my

decisions?Drugs can affect your decisions in more than a

million ways. They will ruin your lives with addiction.

You will choose to miss school and sit at home and

smoke drugs. You will choose to spend Hundreds of

thousands of dollars on drugs rather than an

education or on your family. Drugs can drive you to

insanity.

Did you know that 1 pound of cocaine can cost as

much as $1,000

Page 19: Ash's

Through this exercise I have learnt the

consequences of my decision and how they will

affect my life in different aspects. I have learnt to

look at the key factors of my choices, all the

possibilities and all the outcomes of my

decisions. This has been a great task and I

enjoyed it.
