Jump Rope for Heart What a great day we had last Wednesday when the students were involved in the “Skip off” for Jump Rope for Heart. There was a sea of red hearts and smiles as everyone was involved raising money and fitness levels at the same time. Congratulations to all the demonstration teams and winners of the fundraising and colouring competitions. A huge thank you goes to Mrs Steyn for here fabulous organisation of the day. CHORDS Our school choir will combined with choirs from other Wagga schools to rehearse for the Choral and Dance Spectacular (CHORDS) festival which will be held at the Civic Theatre next term. Ashmont Public will be performing on Monday 28 th October, so save the date. It’s going to be amazing! Delivering Messages There are often times that students forget lunches or need to have messages given to them from home. Please come to the office and the office staff will organise to deliver any items or messages to your child. It is important to note that walking into the class to deliver a message will disrupt the learning of not only your child but also the learning of the others within the class. We are happy for parents to discuss their child’s learning at any stage. Please make an appointment, out of classroom teaching time, at the office so that we can give you our undivided attention. Kinderstart Orientation Parents of our 2020 kindergarten students met on Tuesday morning to learn about what to expect and how to prepare their children for the start of their 13 year educational journey. The pre-schoolers had a taste of kindergarten, spending the morning in the kinder rooms. We look forward to having them attend two days a week next term. Stage 1 Swimming Intensive swimming has started for Stage 1 and will run this week and next. The students are really enjoying their lessons as they take part in a very important life safety skill. Please remember to have them wear their swimmers under their uniform and to pack their towel and underwear in a plastic bag ready for them to change after the lesson. Learning Journey Hopefully all parents have been given their times for their child’s Learning Journey. The Learning Journey allows each child to present their work and show their pride in how far they have come during the year. If you have not received your time please contact your child’s classroom teacher. Tell Them From Me Surveys Once again it is time to hear from students, teachers and parents about their thoughts on the different aspects of school. Parents will get their opportunity after their Learning Journey sessions next week. Students and teachers will complete the online surveys over the next few weeks. Take the opportunity to have your thoughts and opinions heard. Diana McGregor Principal Ashmont Public School Bulletin To Dream. To Inspire. To Succeed. Talk like a Pirate Day – Wednesday 25th September

Ashmont Public School will be participating in “Talk Like a Pirate Day” on Wednesday the 25th of September to raise money for childhood cancer. Our goal is to raise $555 and if we reach our goal, Ms McGregor will ‘walk the plank’. We will be selling lucky numbers for $2 in Week 9 and 10 leading up to the day. There will be two numbers drawn on the day to win a bundle of games each. Join in the treasure hunt and find a gold coin hidden around the school to

redeem a Zooper Dooper. Bring in a gold coin donation to dress-up and

speak like a pirate on the day.
