    The task at hand was to create a new Zinfandel label for Trinchero Family Estates

    that would appeal to the Millennial market. A list of names was provided and the rest

    was up to my creativity. I chose the name Evoke and created a concept from there.

    The flavor of Zinfandel is very dependent on its surrounding environment. Everything

    from the amount of sun it receives to the oak barrel it ages in evokes the flavor

    in this wine. The letterforms represent this in that the E represents strength, the V

    stands for earth, the O stands for sun, the K stands for thunder, and the E stands for

    protection. The labels production effects follow suit with the concept of evoking

    a flavor. The label was hand embossed, giving it a subtle yet strong voice. This is a

    label that consumers would be drawn to and want to hold and touch, which ultimately

    increases their will to buy it. Therefore, the label is doing its job to sell the wine.

    Unpaved is the newest and most useful social media for the modern traveler.It is a

    social media that allows tourists visiting various citiesor the locals who want to to

    be aware of the best spotsto go where the locals go. Unpaved is targeted to the 18-28

    year old market that wish to go where youve never heard of. The idea is to avoid

    touristy places like Times Square or Fishermans Wharf and go places like that hole

    in the wall restaurant tucked away on the side street that has the best, cheapest Thai

    food. The logo design consists of a teepee and filled in letterforms. These letterforms

    represent fulfillment in your travels.The teepee represents a traveling home so when

    traveling,

    you can feel as if you are living in a city that is your own.

    We Meat Again is a delicatessen located in San Francisco and Chicago.The owners of

    this delicatessen also own a delicatessen in New York City but decided to expand to

    Chicago and San Francisco under the name We Meat Again. One design restriction was

    that they needed to keep their prices at a minimum to keep their current customers

    satisfied without sacrificing design quality that would draw new consumers to the

    deli. The concept is based upon old signage with a modern twist, which comes from

    the idea that the modern We Meat Again delicatessen originated from another delica-

    tessen that has been around for many years. The packaging of We Meat Again uses inex-

    pensive kraft paper and simple paper labels for all of their merchandise and meats

    to meet the low price expectation of the deli.

    Lyft is an app-only ride share service that began in San Francisco, CA. The taxis are reg-

    ular peoples cars that can be identified as a Lyft car by a large, fuzzy pink mustache.

    When Lyft first began, people were always wondering what the pink mustaches were. The

    current branding gives no suggestion to the mustache which is their main brand equity.

    This paved way for incorporation of the mustache into the logo. This would leave no

    hazy middle ground between the branding and the actual mustached cars. Lyft has defined

    themselves as a fun, easy-going company. When you enter the vehicle, for example, it is typ-

    ical practice to give your driver a fist bump. Since the environment of the company is

    this way, the branding followed suit. The white and black keeps the branding fresh and

    modern while the pink adds a punch of fun and alludes to the well known mustache coloring.

    Reny Picot is a brand of brie cheese that originally began in Asturias, Spain. This

    brand hit home for me since I have traveled to this location. With the brands roots

    in Spain and my knowledge of this area of the country, it seemed only right to base

    my packaging redesign around everything Spanish. Spain is very welcoming and warm

    mixed with old and new architecture. The colors and patterns in the package design

    are directly influenced from the tiling and feeling of Spain itself. The mixture of

    typefaces allude to the mixture of architectural styles of Northern Spain.

    Folk Yeah Music Festival is an indie folk festival located in Golden Gate Park in

    San Francisco, California. The festival is targeted toward the young Folk listener

    that is constantly on the hunt for the next outdoor musical festival. The concept

    behind the design is based upon embroidery which reflects the country, slow paced

    aspect of folk music. The embroidered text and graphics are completely custom. The

    black and pink color scheme sets the design apart from other designs in the folk

    category. The others tend to be more earthy and reserved, which this festival is not.

    This section of my archive is dedicated to an

    intensive packaging project I worked on while at

    the Academy of Art University. This project was

    a semester long group project with the sole objec-

    tive being to completely re-think and re-brand

    the grocery store, Trader Joes. We had to think

    above and beyond what we were used to, go to many

    stores and research what worked and what didnt,

    and create a new packaging system for Trader

    Joes. Although this was a four person project,

    I was extremely heavy handed in everything from

    the concepts, logo designs, and packaging design.
