EGM DESIGN PHILOSOPHY DIFFERENCES:
At EGM, our engineering team has ASA Sizing Technology exper se and a combined in‐house experience with ASA emulsifica on equipment that exceeds 50 years. With this history, we have designed and developed the absolute best ASA emulsifiers available today, the EL‐ASA Series. The technology incorporated into these systems generate precisely controlled solids, more uniform par cle size distribu ons, minimize chance for ASA hydrolysis and deliver reliable performance over an extended life.
SYSTEMS OVERVIEW: All EL‐ASA systems incorporate the following tech‐nologies: • Reliable control components • Proven turbine technology • Simple and robust pressure control mecha‐
nisms • EGM’s exclusive ASA injec on assembly • Provisions for use with starch or polymer
emulsifica on agents • Four mechanical variables that can be manip‐
ulated to alter emulsion quality and size distri‐bu on
• Turbine quench glands to improve seal life • “Quick Grab” sample port to measure emul‐
sion quality • Alarm packages to iden fy process variables
out of pre‐set range For a detailed list of possible equipment configu‐ra ons, refer to the product selec on guide on page two of this bulle n.
EGM Level Six ASA Emulsifier with PLC Control, EGMixTM
injec on assembly and intelligent turbine control.
• ASA Injec on needs to be handled correctly to minimize the chance for hydrolysis
• Emulsifica on agents require proper dispersion
and mixing to generate op mum results • Turbine life is cri cal and proper accommoda ons
will promote longer life
• PLC automa on provides tremendous flexibility, allowing for mul ple emulsifier use with a single piece of equipment
• “So Start” func onality built into PLC protects
cri cal components and motors from both electri‐cal and pressure shock

ASA SYSTEM ADD‐ONS
The following equipment packages can com‐plete your turn‐key ASA system: • Neat ASA Storage tanks with provision for
moisture control • Emulsifier agent tanks and delivery sys‐
tems • Emulsified ASA holding tanks • Level control packages for all tanks (level
probes, pressure transmi ers, ultrasonic, radar, etc)
• Delivery pumps (if not direct feed from emulsifier)
• Automated distribu on systems (for mul‐‐ply machines)
• Filtra on systems • Heat exchangers (with op onal tempera‐
ture control package) • Hoses, fi ngs, valves, supplies • Installa on, Start‐up, Maintenance and
Repair Services EGM Level One ASA Emulsifier offers clients an eco‐nomical choice for applica ons that do not require ad‐vanced levels of control sophis ca on but s ll demand rugged performance and reliable emulsion quality.
Designed and built at EGM, this 9‐Posi on ASA Feed Spli er allows emulsified ASA to be distributed automa cally to paper machines with mul ‐ply forming.

BEHIND THE SCENES A look inside the power panel from an EGM Level Three ASA Emulsifier reveals a higher standard of cra smanship. Quality components laid out in an ergonomic man‐ner allow for reliability and easy maintenance and troubleshoo ng. Electrical components are neatly arranged to allow for intui ve service. A compulsion for neatness, order and detailed elec‐trical labeling during manufacturing make client ownership experience a luxury.
Pictured here is a Level Two System that incorpo‐rates a hard‐wire logic control scheme with addi‐onal magne c flow meters on the primary emulsi‐
fica on loop to add precision and provide for re‐mote monitoring if required.
