The 6-speedtransmission is availablewith both 2.0 and 2.3MZR petrol engines and2.0 MZR-CD dieselengines.

There are three lively MZR aluminium 4-cylinder petrol

engines to choose from – 1.8-litre, 2.0-litre and 2.3-litre

versions, the 2.0 and 2.3 having a Variable Intake System

(VIS) and Sequential Valve Timing (S-VT) to improve

performance and economy. Two turbocharged 2.0-litre

MZR-CD diesel engines complete the powertrain line-up –

a high-power version, delivering increased torque, and a

low-power version for even greater economy. Both come

with a Diesel Particulate Filter as standard.

As well as the 5- and 6-speed manual transmission,

a newly-developed 5-speed Activematic transmission is

available for the 2.0-litre petrol engine, offering both

manual and automatic modes.

Put the Mazda6 through its paces and you’ll see it’s as

hungry for action as you are. Each of the range’s powerful

petrol and diesel engines has been optimised to deliver

maximum torque and fuel economy, with minimum noise

and emissions.

As well as the intelligentfront and side airbags andcurtain airbags, an advancedAnti-lock Braking System(ABS) featuring ElectronicBrake-force Distribution(EBD) comes as standard.

The Mazda6’s great roadholding ability and precise handling

are also complemented by active safety systems. These include

Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution

(EBD) that adjusts the braking force to suit the handling, and

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)* with Electronic Braking

Assistance (EBA) and Traction Control System (TCS)* to give
