outcomes for our students!

A&S Meeting Focus Areas A&S Focus 2014-15 SYA&S provides opportunities for us to grow professionally and to become stronger leaders. Throughout the year, focus will be placed on School Performance Planning (SPP), Professional Growth Systems (PGS), the Nevada Educator Performance Framework (NEPF), and Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS). Additionally, many options will be available in the form of breakout sessions that are aligned with our central areas of focus. Below is a breakdown of the focal areas and aligned options, and expectations regarding what administrators should know and be able to do by the end of the year as a result of the professional learning opportunities.

School Performance Plans

MTSSBalanced Assessment Family EngagementSpecial Populations Equity

Every WCSD site-based administrator should be able to develop and implement a SPP that leads to continuous school improvement. These plans are living documents that must be monitored and evaluated on a regular basis in order to support student achievement. Therefore, site-based administrators will be able to:• Lead a school team in the analysis & interpretation of school data• Analyze growth data & develop effective strategies to decrease the achievement gap• Understand how to develop school improvement goals• Implement effective family engagement strategies• Embed culturally responsive practices into SPP action steps • Learn strategies for monitoring action steps • Analyze and evaluate the school’s approach to MTSS to ensure SPP alignment• Regularly monitor data related to MTSS (close achievement gaps)• Collaborate with peers

Celebrations of Our Elementary and Middle Schools

English Language Learners who exit ELL prior to high school graduate at or near the district rate each year. And nearly three of every four do exit by grade 8.

Nearly one-third of our Kindergarten students are designated as ELL – And they’ll go to HS knowing two languages (at least).

Thank You, Elementary and Middle Schools!
