Now that we have determined when and how we will return to in-person worship services (see last week’s article), there are many preparations that will need to be made so that we can safely gather again. Please continue to pray for our church staff and church leadership as we complete those preparations. As we draw closer to our first in-person worship service on June 7, we will communicate the additional information needed for that day. As we wait for that day, let me encourage you to continue doing what you are doing. Second Thessalonians 3:13 says, “Brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.” Continue worshiping with us online each Sunday. Continue watching The Daily Word. Continue listening to the Wednesday evening message. Continue meeting with your Sunday School classes and D groups utilizing social media, Zoom or other technology. Continue caring for others in your groups by staying in touch with them. Continue looking for ways to meet the needs of others outside our church. Continue in your faithful stewardship. Continue sharing your faith with others. Continue encouraging others. Continue praying for our church, our community, our nation and our world as we all do our part to love God supremely and love others well. I look forward to seeing you soon! In Christ, Bro. Trent

Graduating seniors, Your church family is proud of the work you have accomplished and would like to have a special service in your honor. May 31 will be this year’s Senior Sunday to show our appreciation for your hard work. You should be receiving a letter in the mail with more details. Please fill out the attached information card found in the letter and return it to [email protected], or drop it off at the church office by Sunday, May 24. Blessings, Garrett

This Week At First BaptistThis Week At First Baptist

The Paris Biblical Counseling Center is currently helping folks through video and phone conferencing for the social distancing timeframe. We plan to begin in-person counseling sessions at FBC the week of Monday, June 8, which follows the Phase 1 reopening plan for FBC worship. You can schedule an appointment at any time by emailing the Center at [email protected].

The church office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, closing only for lunch from Noon to 1 p.m. each day.

Ballots DueBy May 24

Members of FBC Paris should read the instructions carefully on their ballots and nominate no more than 7 men to serve four-year terms as deacons. You can return your ballot by mail or by delivering it to the church office.

Services on websiteFor those of you who are not on Facebook, a video of our Sunday morning worship service will be available on our website each week.

Nominating Committee to begin work It is with great excitement that I write to you today as we not only look forward to resuming our in-person worship on June 7, but also as we begin the process of seeking God’s guidance for servant leaders for the 2020-21 church year. Over the next several weeks the FBC Nominating Committee will begin the process of prayerfully seeking God’s guidance and discernment in staffing the various ministry needs of the church. God has continually and richly blessed FBC with everything needed to accomplish His plans and purpose for the local church. We are blessed with dedicated servant leaders in all areas of ministry. As the committee begins enlisting volunteers for the various ministry needs, the most important part of this process is prayer. Pray that God will give the committee discernment in who to enlist in filling each ministry need. Pray that members will step out in faith and respond to God’s prompting in serving or continuing to serve in the ministry He has for them. Pray for a sense of unity in the body as God has prepared each of us to serve and gifted us perfectly to accomplish His will. This process is not simply placing a group of names on a list next to a position. No, this is the prayerful work, by which God works in and through us to accomplish His will through the local church. In Christ, Bro. Todd
