the institute. He is B.Sc. Engg.

Engineering) from U.C.E Burla. He has 27

years of teaching experiences in different

Diploma Institutes. Prof. Mohapatra is an

icon of technical education. His

experience and erudition make him

versatile. He looks forward to the futuristic

Diploma in Engineering AIET (Polytechnic) offers full time diploma courses in Five

leading branches of Engineering. These courses are

recognized by the highest technical board in the State viz., The

Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Orissa,

and approved by the AICTE, New Delhi. The time duration of

the courses is three years i.e. 6 semesters.

(2 semesters in each year)

Teaching FacultyThe core-teaching faculty of AIET is recruited as per norms

prescribed by the AICTE, New Delhi. The teaching staff

performs a variety of tasks such as formal instruction in

theoretical classes, laboratories, workshops and field work,

progressive evaluation of students' academic performances &

assessment and project developmental activities. All these

motivate students to acquire requisite practical training in the

field of engineering, & in addition the students can obtain

counseling and guidance on individual basis also.

Teaching MethodologyThe methodology followed is very scientific and unique.

Students have exposure to advanced study programmes.

Spirit of enquiry and competitiveness among the students is

encouraged & Medium of Instruction is English.

Tests and Assignments A) Two Internal Tests in each Semester in each Individual Subject are taken of a full mark of 15.

B) Classroom Assignments carries 5 marks on average.

C) Finals Semester Examination carries 80 marks.

Total Marks = (A 15) + (B 05) + (C 80) = 100

Academics Overview The college lays stress on assignments, practical training,

personality development, sports and co-curricular activities

to explore potential and ensure self discipline in students with

interaction through counseling and various committees being

involved for monitoring & guidance.

Interaction with students and their involvement in college

activities, suggestion boxes, student mentors etc, are the other

features in this direction.

Every student is assigned a student mentor [a faculty

member]. Students can directly discuss their studies with

them. Mentors meet the students once a fortnight to discuss

the progress. Special classes are conducted for students who

are weak and who do not perform well in their internal

examinations / class tests. Parents are informed about the

performance of their ward from time to time in the

semester/year. However parents are requested to be in touch

with the Student mentor / Department Head on a regular basis

also concerned subject teacher visit to the hostels once in a

week for doubt clearing classes.

its equivalent Examination with minimum 35%

should have attend DET Entrance Test & Scored

Lateral Entry (2years) : ITI / +2 Science pass-outs

Prof. Sukanta Kumar Nandi is the Head of department of the electrical engineering. He has completed M-Tech degree in power Electronic and drives, and has a deep knowledge in electrical Machine, Power Electronics and others.
