• In this presentation I want to talk about body language, and I will explain how does body speak?, and I will discuss some parts of body that can be used as body language, I will talk about; head, face, eyes and hands, and I will discuss their functions in body language.

• Like any spoken language, body language has words sentences ad punctuation.

Each gesture is like a single word and one word my have several different meanings.

Bodily Speaking…..Bodily Speaking…..• According to the social Anthropologist ,

Edward T.Hall.in a normal conversation between two person , less than %35 of social meaning is transmitted by words.

• So at least 65% meaning transmitted by the body

HEADHEAD• Nodding the head :

‘’Yes’ in most societies

FACEFACE• Facial expression reflect emotion feelings and

attitudes, but …..

•The Asians are sometimes known as -emotionless-mixed-up emotion

EYESEYES Eye contact :

-Encouraged in America, Canada, Europe.-Rude in most Asian countries and in Africa.-Raising eyebrows :-‘yes’ in Thailand and some Asian countries.-’Hello’ in the Philippines-Winking eye :-sharing secret in America and Europe.-flirtatious gesture in other countries

HANDSHANDS• Hands used more than other parts for communicating.• Hand waves are used for greeting or farewells.

•‌Handshaking is a form of greeting in most Western cultures.•In the Middle East, a gentle grip is appropriate.•In most Asian cultures , a gentle grip and an avoidance

of direct eye contact is appropriate

-Pointing with the index fingers is common in north

America and Europe.

-But it is considered impolite in japan and chine

where they favor using the whole open hand.

-Malaysians prefer pointing with the thumb.

language is important to help us, because sometimes we can act and use body language to make the others understand us, specially teachers need to use body language for their students to understand easily.
