• The Central Board of Secondary Education (abbreviated as CBSE) is a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Union Government of India.• CBSE affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private schools and most of the schools approved by central government of India.
INDIAN CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION
• The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) is an examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, a private, non-governmental board of school education in India, for class 10.• Follows the same syllabus throughout the country.

• In Kerala, the state board of education is controlled by the STATE COUNCIL FOR EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH AND TRAINING (SCERT) .• The whole schooling structure is divided as follows
Kindergarten (LKG & UKG -optional) Lower primary (Standard one to four )
Upper Primary (STD 5-7)High School (STD 8-10)
Higher Secondary (STD 11 & 12)
