The Wizard is Us
Symbiogenesis by Networking
In 1909, the Russian biologist Konstantin Mereschkowsky proposed the theory of Symbiogenesis
The Book of Optics, a seven volume treatise on optics, physics, mathematics, anatomy and psychology was written
989 years ago (11 century) by the Iraqi Muslim scientist, Ibn al-Haytham.
He is considered the Father of Modern Optics and the Scientific Method.
After getting their hands on a translation of The Book of Optics, artists of the Renaissance
finally understood the principles of perspective and pretty soon practically everyone was
using this new way of seeing and interpreting “reality”
Intersecting the cone of light with a planar grid and fixing the point of view, Dürer and others, were able to dissect reality and establish an optical relationships of its
components.

It is the year 1580, Madrid, Spain. One of the first cyborgs is born.

...and now to the business at hand...
Many augmented reality systems use one or more of the following computer vision methods:
3D reconstruction, Blob detection, Bundle adjustment, Corner detection, Edge detection, Epipolar geometry,
Exponential map, Fiduciary markers, Image registration, SLAM(sim-loc-map), Structure from motion, Video tracking,
Markerless Tracking
