    Ballroom Dancing Started..Ballroom Dancing started as being a Dance for the

    more wealthy people in communitys leaving Folk

    Dancing to the lower class. Ballroom Dancing is a

    dance between two people with Charisma. Ballroom

    dancing requires emotion and dancing from the

    heart. Ballroom became a very popular dance in the

    1900s, Ballroom became the social event of the

    community, every week families would go to their

    nearest hall and dance the night away. In the 1990s

    Ballrooms popularity disappeared because all the

    people that were interested had either died or couldno longer dance, this was until TV shows like

    Dancing with the Stars and So you Think you can

    Dance came to peoples TV screens. Ballroom

    Dancing is a very Popular Dance in the 2000s.

    Some Types Of BallroomDancing

    Foxtrot The Foxtrot was create by Harry Fox in 1914, it was created in NYCQuickstep The Quickstep was created in 1925 but was called the Charleston

    Waltz.

    Tango The Tango was born in the back street gutters of Buenos Aires,

    Argentina, In the early 1800s.

    Cha-cha The Cha-cha was created in 1948, It is a Cuban family Dance.Paso Doble The Paso Doble is an Spanish and French dance,

    Jive The Jive started in the 1930s in USA

    Mambo The Mambo was created in Afro-Caribbean and Latin American

    cultures found on The island of Cuba. The dance was created around the 1940s

    Mary Murphy People know Mary Murphy as a judge off So you think

    you can dance America but that is not all she isfamous for. Mary Ann Murphy is a ballroom championand accredited chirographer in the USA and all aroundthe world. Mary was born on the 9 of March inLancaster, Ohio. Mary moved to Washington DC aftergraduating from Ohio University. Mary Graduated with

    a degree in Physical Education and a minor in modernDance. Mary moved to Washington to begin hercareer in Ballroom Dancing, she became an instructorand after two weeks in the job she was invited by thestudio owner to attend the United States BallroomChampionships in NYC, this event helped Mary to

    commit herself to a life in ballroom dancing. Maryhad many partners and won many competitions, in1990 Mary started up a academy in San Diego, whichwas called the Champion Ballroom Academy, this wasin San Diego. Mary is on the judging panalon So youthink you can Dance and also judges several
