A warm welcome to the Arts calendar for the beginning of the school academic year and, as always, please do attend any of our events, whether talks, productions, exhibitions or concerts.
We are so fortunate to be exhibiting Jason Hicklin’s suite of prints entitled “Gods of the Earth, Gods of the Sea” and, as in the last two years, we are holding a number of music concerts to link with these engravings. Jason will be visiting to introduce his work and explaining his inspiration.
There are a number of Masterclasses this term for our musicians, focusing upon brass, woodwind, singing and strings. We welcome back our music consultants who have been visiting for a number of years and they are always delighted to see the progress that is being made. The talent of our musicians will also be heard at the Orchestral Gala concert, the Junior concert and the End of Term concert. Please do book tickets through our new online system via our website.
Drama sees another classic production of Shakespeare - this time Hamlet in the newly decorated Old Hall. We also have the fiercely competitive house drama competition, a student-led, student-written adaptation of Frankenstein and some interesting new work written and directed by Wellington students.
Our final production of the term is a dance show linked to film with a possible Christmas twist. Dance at Wellington continues to amaze with its vivid sets and bright costume as well as its wonderful choreography.Of course, you are also welcome to the community carol service on the 13th December or, if you are a Wellington parent, to the relevant carol services for your year group.
Be sure to apply for tickets.
